Re: AI BlackHawk
Question about the "R" to those that know. In this photograph, the foreground aircraft is armed with Hellfires. The one in the background has a torpedo: http://www.lockheedmartin.com/content/lockheed/us/products/mh60r/_jcr_content/product_image.img.jpg/1379366481488.jpg The one with the to...

Re: AI BlackHawk
I'll stick with a low lift and tilt then. The advantage of that is that the helicopter will stay in the traffic viewer window.
The "R" is coming along well. A lot of surgery required, but my favourite so far.

Re: AI BlackHawk
Theoretically of course, as your only kidding (thankfully), I was just pondering how to do it. Two options I think. The Black Hawk is linked to the Chinook below ground and only appears when the Chinook lifts off. Alternatively the Hawk is invisible until xml code triggers its visibility at a given ...

Alas, no, no and no. I think 8-10 models are enough - certainly for me.

Re: AI BlackHawk
Many thanks for the information. That's really useful and interesting too. One more question at the moment. The Army Black Hawks and the USAF Pave Hawks I've modelled have an animated lift built into the model that's triggered by xml code which is designed for runway operations. The lift is only abo...

Re: AI BlackHawk
I've added the stub wings and tanks to a separate "L" model as another option (screen shot is FSX, but the FS9 version is done also): http://i588.photobucket.com/albums/ss323/Bitmap512/Pave%20Hawk/Wings1_zpsed4e6292.jpg Next job is the USN SH-60R, but I need a bit of help. Could people in ...

Re: AI BlackHawk
Thanks Chris, the MH-60K looks interesting, particularly with a stub wing load. I'll certainly consider that. In the meantime, I've just finished the basic "A" model. In fact I've painted two of them. In the screen shot below (FS9), the aircraft on the left is an "A" model painte...

Re: AI BlackHawk
Thanks Chris. I'm glad I asked these questions up front rather than trying to respond to requests after the models were built. I think I can do the S, R and Jay with a bit of planning. I'm away from home for a week from tomorrow and will not be able to respond to posts, PMs and e-mails during that t...

Re: AI BlackHawk
That's really helpful, thank you. So, it looks like I can achieve an Navy "S" and an "R" from the Army models like this: "L" becomes "S" + FLIR platform/ with or without the FLIR and an option for the high mounted stub wing and pylons. Is that the straight out...

Re: AI BlackHawk
I'm slightly confused by all that information, but it seems that a popular choice for the Navy version would be the MH-60S with FLIR. Is it in fact the same as the UH-60M? The 60S photos I've just looked at have the more common slotted engine exhausts, while the 60M has the new top configured exhaus...

Re: AI BlackHawk
The S70s are export models? They look the same externally at the "L". So I'm going to assume that the "L" that I'm producing (with and without stub wings) can be painted by anyone who wants them for a particular country.
It's the Navy models I really need to decide on.

Re: AI BlackHawk
Chris, I've done the UH-60L for FS9 and I'm just about to convert it for FSX also. Next job is to make an "A" model with the earlier engine intake and exhausts, followed by an alternative "L" model with stub wings and fuel tanks. The Navy ones are quite a puzzle. What should I ma...

Re: Overlay Problems
Gary, when you say "plumbed" do you mean that specifically, ie the overlays are made with the "plumbing" method with separate outbound(green) and inbound (blue) paths? If so, the positioning of the nodes either side of the exit hold short nodes can cause traffic to switch paths. ...

Re: AI BlackHawk
I thought that was the case Mike. I'll do the established Hawk family first and then when the decks are cleared, maybe have some fun with the stealth.

Re: AI BlackHawk
Do we know enough about this one Mike - a reliable 3-view drawing, paint reference and unit identity? I had considered it, but wasn't sure about the authenticity of what I was getting back from my research. It would need a lot of re-work to the models I already have, but I can appreciate the interes...

Re: AI BlackHawk
Screen shot 2 is the vertical take-off and nose down tilt triggered in the model by xml code, similar to Nick's. Elevated taxi is good for skid configured helicopters. It's not really needed for those with wheels. I don't think we've cracked xml for skids in any case.

The Pave Hawks are done for both sim versions. Here they are operating from Ian McCartney's in progress FSX RAF Lakenheath in the UK (6 aircraft): http://i588.photobucket.com/albums/ss323/Bitmap512/Pave%20Hawk/Pave1_zps06936210.jpg http://i588.photobucket.com/albums/ss323/Bitmap512/Pave%20Hawk/Pave3...

Re: EA-16G V2 Team FS KBT
What is the problem you are having knarfy? Is it that the aircraft are appearing without textures or that they are not appearing at all? If they are appearing, but have no textures: 1. Do you have 6 texture folders present that correspond to the 6 paints in the aircraft.cfg file? 2. Are the textures...

Not a problem for us at all Mark. It's a pity your paint won't match the mapping in the revamped model.
