Where are you going to fly "Strawberry Bitch" Jon? It's not a particularly striking example, although it's presence in the National Museum would suggest it is of some importance?
I'll need to hunt around for photos, there's not much I've found with a quick look.

Re: B-24 Liberator
Thanks everyone. I'm getting on quite well with the B-24s. The D and J/H models are done (first LOD FS9) and flying as AI. I also have the first couple of paint schemes applied: http://i588.photobucket.com/albums/ss323/Bitmap512/B-24%20Liberator/duo_zpsd456e98f.jpg http://i588.photobucket.com/albums...

Re: B-24 Liberator
Yes absolutely Dave. I have some nice illustrations to work from. I don't think I'll do the polka dots though!

Re: RAF Javelin FS9 and FSX
I spent two hours yesterday morning trying to upload the Javelins to flightsim.com, but the server just wouldn't play ball. I tried again this morning with the same result. I don't know what's changed because I've used the site for very many uploads over the past 15 years or so and it's usually very...

Re: MiG Madness
It's a dilemma Mike. Only around 35% of users I think are now FS9 and diminishing each year. I can tell that approximately from the downloads of both versions of my work. If it takes 500 hours to build an AI aircraft for FS9, it only takes another 6 or so to do the conversion to FSX code (slightly m...

Re: B-24 Liberator
Yes, that fits very well because I can base those on the "D" and "J" models. I have a photo of a 59 Sqn aircraft in the Warpaint book. That will also provide an example of a Coastal Command paint scheme for others to modify if they wish.

B-24 Liberator
I’ve offered to contribute some B-24 Liberator AI aircraft to a WWII USAAF airfield project that is being undertaken with the help of one of the museums in the USA. The airfield itself was in Texas and home to B-29s. My existing AI model is being used for that, but there will also be visiting B-17s ...

I've produced the 5 and 29 Sqn FAW.Mk9/9R models and paints for Plumber: http://i588.photobucket.com/albums/ss323/Bitmap512/Javelin/5SqnMk9s_2_zpsa48197be.jpg http://i588.photobucket.com/albums/ss323/Bitmap512/Javelin/29SqnMk9s_2_zps4089775b.jpg and the 64 Sqn FAW.Mk7 and 85 Sqn FAW.Mk8 paints for S...

Re: Small font size
You can go down to a font size of 2 John, not from the drop down menu, but by typing it in, but it won't look that good. If your master is 1024 x 1024, it's better to design at 2048 x 2048 pixels, 300 dpi resolution and then re-size it afterwards to 1024 to make the texture. That way you can use rel...

Re: RAF Javelin FS9 and FSX
Yes I was puzzling over that Steve when I was doing my research. I can't detect much difference in the many photographs I have or in my detailed plans. I don't think users will worry about it. It's the jet pipe that's very different.

Re: RAF Javelin FS9 and FSX
Brian, yes I'm going to do your 5 and 29 Sqn schemes - 10 aircraft for each. I have the serial numbers, but do you happen to have the tail letter codes that went with them? If not, I'll see what pictures I can find with them on and invent the rest. I wasn't quite clear about what you were saying abo...

RAF Javelin FS9 and FSX
I’ve resisted it long enough, but I thought I would have a go at a Javelin. It’s not an aircraft I particularly like and that’s really only due to one fairly trivial reason – the roundel on the nose. It just unbalances the look of the aircraft. I would have liked it more I think if it was on the air...

Re: Create Reflective Material For FS9
Glad that's useful. If anyone wants to know how to do it in FSX just shout. The settings are quite a bit more complex.

Re: Create Reflective Material For FS9
This is how I do it flynby. The bulk of what's below is for an aircraft object, but you will probably need the last tweak to get the reflection recognised in FS9 on a scenery object. PREPARING THE TEXTURE Make a copy of your existing RGB texture artwork – the one used to generate the FS9 texture. He...

Re: Create Reflective Material For FS9
Is that a static aircraft model or a scenery object model like a building flynby and is the model itself finished and textured without the reflection? Also, do you know how to produce an alpha channel and incorporate it in a texture? Once we are clear about those two things, I'm sure we can help you...

Re: Create Reflective Material For FS9
That's certainly true Mike when modelling scenery conventionally. It is however possible with a bit of deception. To make a reflective texture for a scenery object in FS9 you have to dupe the sim into thinking it’s an aircraft model. To do that open the -0.asm file and change the texture type to “AI...

Re: JYAI FSX F-15s for FSX Lakenheath (ACG)
My wife told me this evening that a military aircraft had crashed in Lincolnshire, but didn't know what. It was quite a shock to see here that it was one of the two F-15D's from Lakenheath - the one I had just modelled. So glad the pilot is OK.

JYAI FSX F-15s for FSX Lakenheath (ACG)
With RAF Wattisham now largely done, I thought I would have a go at the FSX F-15s that Ian McCartney (ACG) asked me for, for his super-detailed FSX Lakenheath that he is developing (see the posts in the scenery section at ACG). There are 6 base models - 3 x F-15Es, 2 x F-15Cs and 1x F-15D all in nat...

Re: JMAI B-52B
So, was it a fresh installation of FS9 and the B-52 package that corrected the problem? The virus itself wouldn't alter the characteristics or flight dynamics of one particular model would it? It was the reason for the re-install? How did you know you had a virus of some kind? Glad it's fixed though...

Re: JMAI B-52B
Tried your Aircraft.cfg file, SOSDD. “Same old ---- different day”. That's just weird, absolutely weird. The second part of what you did points to the model file for the B-52B being the culprit (the .air files look to be the same for the B and C models at 8395 bytes each). The B model works fine fo...
