Re: Help with alpha channel

Mike is correct.

The alpha channel controls either transparency or reflectivity.
This is set by the modeller and cannot be changed without a re-compile.

Re: question about MAIW

Fri Aug 11, 2006 10:15 pm for me.

Although.....
I wasn't an official member of the team until a wee while later. I had done some Osan F-16 repaints and offered them to MAIW.
Got myself 'hired'.
Modelling came shortly after, fancied a 'bash' at it LOL.

Re: NASA Global Hawk

None that I know of. We tried painting it for a possible NASA package that we might do and found out that because the way the textures are mapped on the model, it cannot be painted correctly. So if someone ends up doing those two paints, it won't be 100% correct. The only way to fix it would be to ...

Re: Variable speed cameras question

Unless they have changed recently- - Averrage speed cams work on individual lanes on the motorway, they are networked in pairs. Switch lanes between cameras they can't get an average speed. However ..... Some cities are now installing cameras that are completely networked. As long as you enter and l...

Re: Animation - need a helping hand

Try -
Use a copy of the prop_blurred, for the prop_slow.
Set the animation speed in the aircraft config, called something like prop_anim_ratio.

Not sure what engine conditions can be used, sorry.

I had also done one with the Skunk Works logo on the bottom.
Lockheed wouldn't give me permission to release it :-(

Thinking about it you have to use Nicks method of an if / else selection.

If a mod could delete my post above, I would appreciate it. DONE

Re: Czech Gripens

No probs with you releasing them from my side of things.

Nice to see them in Czech guise.

The Czech ones should use the longer red warning flags though.
Different model (only in the flag)s to the one you are using.

Re: FSDS working variable afterburner nozzle

Never used it on any of mine also. The extra effort and much more polys involved doesn't make it worthwhile. Saying that if you want to try it you would need to find some xml variables to attach the anim to. The only two you might be able to use is throttle position and height above ground. You woul...

Re: how can I make the T-38C from the sheppard package a flyable

Not as simple as adding panels/sounds etc.

There are a lot of custom XML animations built into the model itlself. While this in itself doesn't make it unflyable, it 'may' cause some unforseen side effects.

Re: F-117 HAVE BLUE

I still have the F-117A paintkit tucked away somewhere. Do you have somewhere I could put a 20mb+ file for you? You will have to compromise on the 3 tone Have Blue scheme, the inner tail textures are mirrored. I didn't forsee a problem with doing that at the time. I had done a nice F-117A that had t...

SSD's are getting there, but do have their drawbacks.

Sums it up pretty well.

IF they ever get it sorted out MRAM will be the way to go.

Floating - You need to alter the static c of g in the aircraft config file.

Re: NASA aircraft

Thanks. The NF-15B with canards is in the LOD / testing phase. Unfortunately because of custom XML animations it won't work as a flyable aircraft, it is pure AI only. I thought it was a model by Nick Black! Nope. I couldn't texture one of the NASA Eagles because of stretching/mirroring issues. Nick...
