Just a huge thanks to Henk and all members involved for the Century Series conversion. Have been getting lots of mileage out of the more naval oriented conversions (F-8, F-4, TA-4J, etc.) and now there's a whole brace of Air Force models to play with.
Again, thanks so much.

Re: Matrix 2 Development
Hi! This is exceptional news! Personally, I never had any complaint about how how Matrix 1 worked. I found the interface and process virtually error-proof. All I've had to do is manage my "retro" world files carefully to take account updates. Easy peasy. Now about retro. This has been a ve...

Re: E-2 Hawkeye and C-2 Greyhound
Just wanted to say a big thanks for these John. Been too busy with work to install but I'm heading into a couple days of free(er) time, so I can't wait to load these in. I believe RFN did some scenery and traffic files into which I believe I could work the Aeronavale versions. So a big thanks, most ...

Re: Most wanted AI poll
Hi! Reviewing those 10 pages of models is a reminder of how appropriate it is to first acknowledge the great work that the MAIW and contributing teams have done. My "vote/hope" would be for some aircraft a bit further back in history, even though I'm already impressed with how many of my d...

Re: FSX/P3DV4.5 Retro USN/USMC Project
Thanks.
Yes, the F-104 family would be lovely, as would the F-101 - would really scratch the itch for a retro ('60s and/or '70s) Canadian Forces project I'd like to do. But this project will keep me busy for weeks or months, so I'm not in a hurry, lol.

Re: FSX/P3DV4.5 Retro USN/USMC Project
OK, traffic for 1955 KNPA is done. Instead of adding transient fighter traffic, I added some cargo. We'll see lot of fighters at 1955 NAS/MCAS fighter bases.
Will work on those over the course of this week. Hoping to have the complete 1955 done in a couple of weeks.

Re: FSX/P3DV4.5 Retro USN/USMC Project
1985 = (T-34C, F-14 , A-7, P3) You had me at more Tomcats! I’m stoked too. The recent conversion of these retro types which won’t otherwise work themselves into any official MAIW Matrix uploads anytime soon, are begging to be put to good use. Some even have individual airframe repaints. I’ve begged...

Re: FSX/P3DV4.5 Retro USN/USMC Project
Here's a few screenshots of NAS Pensacola 1955: Lovely John Young SNJs all individually repainted, courtesy of Joe over at SOH ("Butcherbird17). I wish I all the other units will have individually numbered paints - I'll just be using the existing repaint across the whole squadron. But the Basic...

Re: FSX/P3DV4.5 Retro USN/USMC Project
Yeah, fair enough. I heard Henrik Nielson had some of his AI ship stuff published without permission, and similar stories. Anyway, onwards and upwards.
Thanks for the title fix. Will post up some pics of the first part of the project over the weekend.

Re: FSX/P3DV.45 Retro USN/USMC Project
Thanks Greg, Those are clear guidelines, and more than fair - thanks. I'm not sure it was kind as much as just common courtesy to ask for permission, especially since the overwhelming extent of the content is MAIW content, from a traffic file composition perspective. Anyway - of course, I wouldn't d...

FSX/P3DV4.5 Retro USN/USMC Project
Hello all, So with all these new (old/retro) models, I've started a series of little projects to convert existing MAIW traffic using modern aircraft to appropriate "period" models. The idea is to populate a few key NAS/MCAS bases with appropriate trainer, fighter, attack, and patrol aircra...

Re: E-2 Hawkeye and C-2 Greyhound
Looks great John!
Will definitely get good use of the 4-bladed C model(s). You mentioned the E-2C, would you consider a 4-bladed C-2A? That would be a great companion.
In any event - thanks in advance for these (and for the released Provosts too - can't wait to start playing with those!).

Re: Aircraft shade/shelters
Thanks FB. Yeah, the main "period" I like to fly in 60s-70s, so at a simplistic level, deleting from a master object file sounds ideal, as even when I fly in a later period, I'd be happy if I never saw the shades ever again. But if the bigger point is potentially screwing up something else...

Re: Aircraft shade/shelters
Hi - thanks. Am at work now, but can mostly visualize what you're asking. No, I didn't load the obj bgl, so that looks like my issue. So load the AFCAD, then the OBJ bgl. And for KNPA, I recall indeed there being those two files. I'm glad you posted the last paragraph, because while I get the gist o...
