I have found most of the textures in the Lakenheath and Topgun/Miramar packages.
The airshow textures probably come from the anniversary airshow package.
Hope this helps.

Re: JMAI B-52B
Gents The airport elevation due to afcad or ADE changes will only make the aircraft float. Incorrect contact points make the aircraft sink into the ground. If you are using AirUpdate or similar program to change the aircraft air and CFG this will possibly give the symptoms you are witnessing. The pr...

Re: B-52s Sink into the ramp Tail First
If I now understand. The aircraft.cfg and .air were modified to make the aircraft flyable. My knowledge on this subject is limited. Having said that. I have tried unsuccessfully in the past to combine the dynamics of one aircraft with the model of another. The .air and .cfg files are matched. The vi...

Re: B-52s Sink into the ramp Tail First
If I understand correctly you unzip or install all your MAIW aircraft to a single folder. When you unzip or install data into a folder the files with the same name are replaced with the one you are installing. You need to place the new aircraft folder in its complete and unique entirety into the mai...

Re: B-52s Sink into the ramp Tail First
Steve Making the aircraft AI only reduces the load time of the aircraft selection menu. Look for this upload at Avsim by Ronald Falzon: Speeding Up Loading of FS9 Tutorial. Under utilities. Tried it and it works. FS9 loaded, with only default aircraft, faster that Microsoft Outlook. You just need to...

Re: B-52s Sink into the ramp Tail First
Hi Throwing in my bit. The aircraft .CFG file contains the contact points for the aircraft. This determines how high the centre of the model is from the surface. The contact points also determine how the behaviour is going to be relative to the ground. The .CFG and .air files are normally matched. W...

Re: Futenma MCAS runway info
Hi Joseph
I have found that some references give information for touchdown zone to touchdown zone. Others give threshold to threshold.
I use Google earth to measure and then check whether the information is reasonable.
Deduce your answer from that.

Re: PC-9M Clean model
Thanks Gents. Still trying to find my way around Paintshop Pro. Any help would be appreciated. The Rooivalk might be a tall order. Not many of them. Based in Bloemfontein, close to the Army mechanised training schools. Some deployed on UN duties to eastern DRC. Good sceneries for FABL available. FS9...

Re: PC-9M Clean model
Thank you, kind Sir.
I am pottering around with Langebaanweg AFB (FALW).
I have a single generic paint, a basic modified ADE file and the beginnings of hangars and the tower.
I will gladly pass on files, if anyone is interested.

PC-9M Clean model
I have painted a SAAF version of the PC-9M to represent a PC-7 MkII.
These aircraft look similar to the PC-9M but have no hard-points on the wings.
Is there a clean version of the KRMG PC-9M available?

Re: Blurry Textures
Hi again. We are never too old to learn. Myself included. DxtBmp has a menu that says alpha. An alpha channel is basically a white or black sheet whit combinations of the black or white to create white opaque or black fully transparent. What I did the first time to get an Alpha channel was to use DX...

Re: Blurry Textures
Hi I am no expert. I have improved the look of many AI textures saved as dxt3 with no Alpha. I have read that DxtBmp1 does not transform textures as well as Image tool which comes with the SDK packs. Suggestion: Use DXTBmp1 to add a plain white alpha Channel to the 32bit texture. Open the new textur...

Re: Airport polygon problem... color changing
Try to assign a different texture to the polygon and compile it to see if it persists.
Use the "assembled" option at the bottom of the list.
Guessing you are using FS9.

Hi Jason
You have terrain mesh installed.
The airport has the default flatten.
It can be fixed by ADE.
Get the elevation next to the hole.
Use the change airport altitude function
Make a flatten

Re: Hold Short Node texture
Hi
The texture is named: taxiway_marks.bmp.
The generic texture upgrade has a version of this texture. Some of the Russian sceneries have different versions.
The main texture folder is a place to start.
It looks like the alpha channel has changed to grey.
Good luck

Re: Website and forum connection issues
I find that I can connect quite easily when the internet is fast. Mornings on week days in South Africa. As soon as the US and Japan come online everything slows down and I can't connect. There must be some sort of information transfer in order to connect to the site. If it is too slow then it does ...
