Re: Embraer KC-390

Looks great, John!

But please forgive my ignorance - I thought the only Cessna Caravans were the HTAIs? Where would the AIG one be available?

Re: AI planes stuck in an infinite touch and go loop

The AIFP manual is THE starting point, of course. If that doesn't clear things up, then by all means ask here. And if you go to AIG, under Flightplanning there is a place where you can ask also. At least Johan over there knows a lot of bits and pieces about AIFP. But sadly, I don't think this info e...

Re: Thoughts on the next project

John, With all due respect, I will disagree on the "hideous" shape of the Alouette III. For a time, back in the '70s, I lived pretty close to EKVL/Vaerloese and saw these on a regular basis, as well as heard them "singing", quite different from other helicopters. And everyone who...

And I can now say that this "WW II re-enactment" looks absolutely stunning in P3D v. 5!!!

Congratulations to everyone involved -

Re: Thoughts on the next project

Just downloaded and installed RAF Ford and the aircraft.

In the aircraft txt file for the flight plans, there is an error - the aircraft number cannot have a leading zero, the 602 Sqn Spitfires have that.

Re: Thoughts on the next project

A BAC TSR-2 AI aircraft actually exists, and looks good. Made by Team SDB, and available as part of a couple of their airfield series.

Mention of the Whirlwind makes me think of the Sikorsky S-55, and then of the S-58.

Re: Thoughts on the next project

Somehow the Sea Hawk slipped my mind - a great choice, served with 4 different navies. But that (and the Hunter) brought up the memory of the Supermarine Attacker, Scimitar and Swift... and are there any FSX/P3D Vampires and Venoms out there?

Re: Thoughts on the next project

I'll chime in by adding my vote for the Alouette III and the Bo-105, but after seeing the tail "boom" on the Alouette II, how about the Bell 47? On the British side there is also the Saro Skeeter and the Bristol 173, and I could go on... CH/UH-46 etc etc etc

Re: AI Spitfires, Mosquitos and Lancasters, RAF Ford 1944, with Present-Day Historic examples.

I do not care one iota if my P3D is present-day - this scenery goes in there, period. I can always say it is a WW II re-enactment...

Mine are all installed now, I'll go hunting for 111 Kokutai and see what shows up.

Re: CH-53 Family

Now, a big question - are there any repaints for teh R. Kelly CH-53E model in JMSDF colors available?

Re: CH-53 Family

If an AI -E is not available, then a flyable one will have to do.

Where would one find the R. Kelly model for FSX/P3D?

And a very happy New Year to every one!

Re: A few Retro Repaints

Update - with the Schleswig-Holstein photoscenery turned off, the panels are gone. The airfield also looks much better, but the downside is that on the west side of the runway, where there should be nothing, there now are apartment buildings. Tim, your offer about the replacement background is much ...

Re: A few Retro Repaints

Update - I flew over the field today at a VERY low level. And seeing this very close up, I really do believe now that what I see are the solar panels. I am in contact with Matthias about this.

I will try now to turn off the Schleswig-Holstein part of his photoscenery and see what happens.

Re: A few Retro Repaints

Odd. Matthias checked his source data, and the (expletive deleted) lake does not come from there. He speculated it could be from the solar panels now installed on the site, but looking at it from above those would have to be decidedly odd, as it looks definitely lake-shaped.

Re: A few Retro Repaints

So here's what I did: as mentioned earlier, got Chris' and Menno's ETME from AVSIM. I ran it through AIG's AFCAD Converter, loaded it into ADE and compiled it with the P3D v. 5 SDK. IMNSHO it looks far better than the one from Flyawaysimulation, but the ***** lake is still there. The are some vehicl...
