Re: JY Hunter single-seat FSX model

Nothing wrong with the JY Hunter canopy. Sometimes animations are just not shown correctly in the model viewers in MCX and AI-Aircraft Editor.NET. You should always check in the sim before claiming there is a problem. Henk. Cheers, Henk - good to know. I’ll take care not to have such a hair-trigger...

Re: JY Hunter single-seat FSX model

Yes, gotcha Steve. I do think I need a vanilla installation of P3D to check stuff like this. When v5 comes out I’ll bite the bullet and buy (yet) another copy so I can do just that. I do have v3 on another computer, but of course that’s not great for checking v4 compatibility. Of course, I could sto...

Re: AI Chinook for P3Dv4 ?

Excellent news indeed. Incidentally, I also tried converting the RN Sea Kings, but despite looking fine in MCX and AIAE, nothing showed up in P3Dv4.

Re: JY Hunter single-seat FSX model

Good question, Steve. I'm not entirely sure where I have Hunters flying in-game! It takes over an hour to load my P3Dv4, and then about 30-40 minutes to change location, so it may take a while to find out (yes, I know I can interrogate the traffic files to give myself a shortcut!).

JY Hunter single-seat FSX model

John, I just came across this while rationalising some of my AI stable and checking what works in P3Dv4 using Martin's AI-Aircraft Editor.NET; the FSX single-seat Hunter model has its canopy opening via a lateral slide rather than a longitudinal one. A little inconvenient for the pilot - I used to s...

Re: AI Chinook for P3Dv4 ?

Not sure if this is still relevant, but - for my own use only - I did a quick and dirty conversion using Arno's MCX which has worked perfectly well enough for my needs. I have all the previously-FS9 versions of the RAF's CH47 working in P3Dv4, which will do me until the professionals have had a look...

Re: RAF Brüggen FSX/P3D - Coming, but NOT soon....

If it helps, my Dad was Stn Cdr at Gutersloh from 1974-76 (last of the Lightnings), and I was an RAF C130 pilot from 1980-1998, and often visited all of the RAFG bases. My own memories of details may not be great, but I have access to the collective memories of the Herc fleet from that time, so I ma...

Re: JYAI C-130J Specials

Excellent! I spent 18 years flying the C130K and never got to fly the J (I left the RAF in 1998), but I've been looking forward to an up-to-date model for P3D.

Re: Some traffic not appearing - but not consistently!

Yes, of course you're right Steve. And the Default Scenery is layer 1 in scenery.cfg, active and required. So why it's not loading, I have no idea! But I've found a workaround that'll do for now, and when P3Dv4.5 is released fairly soon I'll do a clean reinstall and get it all in the right places. T...

Re: Some traffic not appearing - but not consistently!

According to Lorby's Addon Organiser, the Default Airplanes folder is active. I'm not sure which .cfg file looks at traffic files, though.

Re: Some traffic not appearing - but not consistently!

So, placing the test flightplan file in MAIW\MAIW_EUROPE\MAIW_EUROPE_WORLD\scenery makes it work (and reveals that one or two textures I thought were P3Dv4 compatible are actually not!). I wonder why P3D is not activating the traffic in s\w\s? P3D has started displaying one or two odd little quirks ...

Re: Some traffic not appearing - but not consistently!

All the aircraft are present and correct in AIFP. And I've confirmed in AI-Aircraft Editor that all aircraft (in this plan at least) are using P3Dv4-compatible textures and .mdl files. I have confirmed that P3D is not generating traffic from scenery\world\scenery, but the apps (including Matrix) are...

Re: Some traffic not appearing - but not consistently!

Thanks both. I have set both to 100%, but there's no difference. However, a thought occurs: it would appear that P3D may be only displaying traffic generated by Matrix, UTLive, UK2000 and Orbx FTX. Other than ships, it would seem that few of the plans in scenery\world\scenery are producing traffic u...

Re: Some traffic not appearing - but not consistently!

Hi John, thanks for your answer. No, they’re not at 100%, they’re at about 50%. A hangover from FSX, I think. I also understood that the P3D AI ‘bubble’ is a lot larger than the FSX one, and was concerned that setting them higher would slow everything down too much. I’ll give it a go; would it expla...

Some traffic not appearing - but not consistently!

I’m a fairly experienced flight sim user, and I’ve been using AI of all kinds since FS8. I know my way around AIFP, ADE, Lorby’s excellent Installer, and a fair few other tools. But this issue is doing my head in! The sim is P3Dv4.4. For AI, I have UTLive, Matrix, FTX, Uk2000, and a veritable host o...

Re: Something went wrong while installing Global Libraries

I had a similar problem in that the app froze after downloading, unpacking and installing the updates. I seem to have solved it by uninstalling the installed regions, then the Global Library, then installing them from scratch. I also have no logs in LocalAppData (Win10 v 1803).

Re: General MAIW Conversion Package issues

I don't know if others have this problem, but on attempting to extract the Zip files for the modified P3Dv4-compatible F16 and C130, I get this error message: 0x8001010135: Path too long. It appears to be related to the length of some individual aircrafts' titles. I'm using Win10 v1709, 64-bit. The ...
