Wonderful scenery. We have B-52s visiting RAF Fairford this week from Minot. A show of force.

I only had a brief look due to time constraints, but absolutely amazing.

And some fancy footwork from Martin also, appreciated!

Thanks John, looking good!

This is one of a number of sceneries I now have with manual season switching. Anyone else use batch files to toggle them?
Pretty simple I know, but otherwise I'd forget to do it.

I make a file called winter.bat with a plain text editor containing lines like these...

cd C:\Users\Jim\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\NorthAmerica\Minot AFB JYAI\texture\Textures winter\
copy *.dds .. /Y

Obviously use your own folder path and make a similar summer.bat, so as to just double-click the season's file you want before starting your sim. (With MCX say, check the textures you want have copied correctly though, as syntax can be fussy.)

Yes I was fascinated by the detail Chris, but it took a lot of research to find it. Very often I would find something late on that answered a question I was pondering much earlier.

I was aware of the two Grey Wolf's at Malmstrom and those plus the new Jolly Greens are nice containable revamps to do next I think.

What parking code did you use for the helicopters? I ask because I am seeing some of the helicopter's parking on the main B-52 ramp. I saw 4 of them parking there while the others were parking in the correct spots.

They don't need a parking code. The helicopters are programmed to use the helicopter overlay KMI7, while the B-52s are on KMIB. I have never seen a helicopter any where else at Minot and I must have viewed more than 100 times during construction.

John, thank you for mentioning KMI7. I see what I did and it is my mistake. I wanted to see the helicopters at Minot but I didn't have time to install the scenery, so I changed the flightplans to KMIB just so I can see the helicopters. When I finally installed the scenery I forgot to change the plans back to KMI7.

Jumping between sims (DCS,MSFS20,P3D), finally got the latest version installed to check out the BUFFs in action. Loaded up P3Dv5.3 and noticed I had 2 ATC towers, that's not a good start. Searched again for any stray "KMIB" or "Minot" scenery files,of course the "Minot" versions got overlooked. Flew out to missile sites to watch Hueys work, great job on those in stock P3D landclass. Recent repaint upgrades to the B-52s did not have the correct parking codes, so only 5 appeared.
