Well,
I was always keen to develop her:

Is she somehow connected with military? Of course!

Nice! There aren't too many AI biplanes running around, especially not ones that are right at home in 2007. :D

Well, if you count that around 18 000 of them were built - in USSR, mostly in Poland and some rest in China:

There are still many survivors round here:

I think there would be some problem to manage which are flyable right now but I am sure that quite enough:

It's coming along nicely, I hope many will love her
Almost everyone has a different paint now, it will be a nightmare for repainters. The model will fit both exotic military packages here (a primary purpose I do it)
as well as various GA sets, like those done by Ultimate GA (the guys do not look hyper-active last months :smt015 ) ...

Some rounded shapes here and there:

Nice work, Rysiek! Just FYI, you know there is an AI An-2 out already. Available on Avsim.ru and used in a few of the most recent RATS packages.

I think I know ... but when I looked at the model, I did not encountered any LODs.
That's why we are here, yeah?

I saw one at an airshow a few years back. Much larger than you would suspect, and the slow flight ability was amazing. I look forward to having her in my AI.

Looks nice.

Just out of curiosity, what air forces still operate the AN-2?

There are lots of them both in Air Forces AND paramilitary affiliates for sure. On top off my head are: Russia, China, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia ...

Poland: http://www.redakcjawojskowa.pl/gazeta/i ... &Itemid=49
- well, it's in Polish but it says here, that the guy is a commander of Polish AF An-2 light transport - liason squadron based in Wroclaw:

And here we go:
Russia:

http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1188772/L/ [taking off]
http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1189834/L/
http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1094157/L/

Poland [NATO !]:
http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1195156/L/ [3 or 4 of them, that one of Wroclaw sitting in Cracow Balice]

Lithuania [NATO !]
http://www.scramble.nl/lt.htm [Looks like 4 of them]

Latvia [NATO !]:
http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1098183/L/
http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1098185/L/

Estonia [NATO !]:

ex-DDR ( ):

Romania [NATO !]

China [Y-5]:
http://www.sinodefence.com/airforce/airlift/default.asp [200+ !]
http://www.sinodefence.com/airforce/airlift/y5.asp

Plus a hell lot of former second-hand ex-military examples flying as a giant GA, flying club workhorses, parachutist vessels, sailplane towing, landscape looking planes and so on.
Lots still in Aeroflot and such, in Siberia and CIS countries.
You can find them as well in US, Sweden, France, UK and such.

Quite a lot more than I thought, then!

I've seen one or two over here (Leicester, UK) before, although I've no idea what they were being used for, or where they were based.

Babies got their blurred propellers (turning clockwise) in the end, so it looks like the most difficult (for me) part is over  :

I can not get a "preflight" phase work for a piston engine aircraft. Navigation light condition looks like is not working. So I will do different model with and without "open" doors when on the ground, to have a user to choose from.

What I do get is something like that:
