Blue Angels Crossover work in progress

Post by Paul »

Blue Angels Crossover work in progress. I need to download the Mobile Control Tower at Avsim so I wouldn't have to fly in there to get some good screen shots, because it sure is hard to get the timing and elevation right. But here's a few for now.

Not quiet like Mike's ThunderBirds.

Paul,

Your crossover looks pretty good to me. As I am sure you are finding out, FS9 doesn't reproduce the ETD times exactly from AI flight to AI flight, so at some point you just have to accept what you have and tolerate the occasional AI crossover with botched timing. :(

Have fun!

Thanks Mike. That means alot to me coming from you. you don't know how many times I played with the flightplans timing, I was down in the seconds. Blue Angel 5 & 6 are still off to the east abit.

Paul,

I wouldn't even want to guess how many times I adjusted the T-Birds flight plans trying to get the perfect timing for their crossover. I sure wish FS9 had more accurate and reproducible timing, don't you? :(

Hi Paul. What aircraft are you using for that project? I have been thinking of doing some Blue Angels plans also but can't find an adecuate AI F18 for that, other than Kari's model, which can't be faithfully textured on the tail. The AI F18 from Flight Deck 4 is great but since it is a commercial product, I dont know if it can be used. :? Lewis

Hi Lewis,

The aircraft I used is "Team FS KBT Superhornet" andTexture by Lucian Lie. I believe I got them at Simviation.com
Not really an AI aircraft. Killer on frame rates, but looks great. I deleted the Sound file & Panel textures in the texture file to help out with the frame rates. I don't know if you saw my other Blue Angel screenshots posted here. I get about 14 to 17 FPS in formation flight on my system but considerably less near airports. I have a Dell Dimensions 4600 with 2.4GHZ. Rysiek Winawer is in the process of making an AI F-18. Maybe once done someone will do a Blue Angel paint.
