Canopy fixes for fsx

Post by shaggy22 »

Don't know if this is in the right place or not but here goes. Can someone tell me how to fix the opaque issues in fsx for the NBAI Tiffies, the FMAI Tornado & Mirage 2000 please.

Thanks in advance
Dan

The owl's nest website has most of the fixed canopy files for those aircraft in the download section. The newer packages I am not so sure about, but a large number of the older packages are covered.

Cheers Matt

I was aware of the stuff at the Owls nest but there are quite a few paints out there that need a fix applied to them. Figured I may as well try & have a go at doing it myself

Graham has made FSX replacements for the Mirage - you can find them here. I wait for Grahams approval to upload them to AVSim and FlightSim so that they are easier to find than in this thread.

After all official MAIW Eurofighter and Tonrado packages are done and available at the Owls Nest, I have now the large Tornado GAF package in the make.
Cheers,
Martin

I knew about them. I was going to attempt to convert some Mirages from the middle east, retro tornado's that Chris Brown did a while back and the Saudi tiffies. None of which have fixes for them i believe.

Also is anyone going to do the new Austrian tiffies?

Oh - I thought that the Eurofighter might had been updated to work in both sims for the new package. I will do the fixes this week.

I have not done the 12 Tornado packages from Chris, neither any Mirages. Are you talking about the UAE and Qatar package from Mike Pearson?
Cheers,
Martin

Correct. Have the Peruvian ones been done as well?

Then expect a mail with a bunch of download links soon. I will make everything ready in package form so that the only thing missing is the screen shot.
Btw, this avatar you use makes me grin every time :smt001

That's quite a long list of Tornado's!
I have just downloaded the FSX version of Lechfeld AB and would already be very glad with canopy fixes for the Tornado's of JG32.

Chris_Brown_IDS_AMI_50_Stormo_RSV
Chris_Brown_IDS_AMI_6_Stormo
Chris_Brown_IDS_German_Navy_MFG1_1990

The next set of packages is done and in test currently:

Chris_A_Brown_ETNJ_JBG38
Chris_A_Brown_ETNN_JBG31
Chris_A_Brown_ETSB_JBG33
Chris_A_Brown_ETSL_JBG32
Chris_A_Brown_GR1_RAF_SQN_27
Chris_A_Brown_GR1_RAF_SQN_617
Chris_A_Brown_GR1A_RAF_SQN_13
Chris_A_Brown_IDS_Royal_Saudi_AF_Part1
Daryl_Payne_ADV_RAF_SQN_111_25th
Mark_Heimer_IDS_GAF_Holloman
Ray_Parker_ADV_RAF_SQN_56

They will be released some time next week. Also I will release these patch packages:

Chris_A_Brown_ADV_RAF_Leuchars_1990_Patch
Daryl_Payne_ADV_RAF_Coningsby_1990_Patch
Daryl_Payne_ADV_RAF_SQN_111_25th_Patch
Daryl_Payne_ADV_RAF_SQN_29_75th_Patch

In those I have removed all alpha channels used to mask things like tanks and rockets. This trick worked well in FS9, but has some strange side effects in FSX.

All 7 MAIW Mirage 2000 packages are completed and in test as well.
Cheers,
Martin

Martin, FSX should not be half as beautiful without your transparant canopies.
Keep up the good work! :smt023
