Hi,
John, while working on my RAF Gütersloh, I watched so many Harriers doing vertical landings.
I know about the landing behaviour and how it is accomplished.
Even if these vertical movements are very fast, I always was satisfied with it.
But yesterday, I bother about the option to maybe affect these action afterwards, maybe inside the airfile manager.
So, is it possible to reduce the descent of the aircraft in any way? Is it defined inside the mdl or inside the .air file?

Re: John Youngs Harrier GR3: Vertical movement limits?
Hi Manfred.
The speed of the animated lift is controlled by the <Lag> value in the xml file that sets up the animation and is compiled into the model. It is possible to slow it further, but the problem is that lift and descent becomes very jerky. It's a trade-off really and about the best I can achieve with what we have.
Cheers,
John

Thank you for quick answer, John.
No matter, that's a minor appearance at this great aircraft. Will still enjoy it!

I should have said also, Manfred, if you slow the lift too much the conventional acceleration of the FDE will pull the lift forward, producing a sloping lift rather than a near vertical one.

Oh, that sounds like me flying the flyable Wilco or Razbam Harriers
Okay, no experiments, I won't keep calling the fire brigade
