Vanishing Act: The last of the Air Force's F-117 stealth fighters are nearing the end of their operational lifetimes-literally. KFOX Las Crucesreports that only about 12 F-117s remain at Holloman AFB, N.M., the one and only home for combat-coded Nighthawks since the 1980s. Some of them will be flying out to their final resting places this week, and base officials expect to see the last F-117 depart on April 21, the TV station said on Jan. 24. One of the F-117s is being turned into a static display, it noted. Shortly after the F-117s are gone, the first of the base's new tenants will arrive: F-22s. Holloman is slated to get two squadrons of Raptors, with the first two aircraft anticipated in June, the report said.

There is no way to understand the reasoning behind some things. Out in Hawaii, they had a B-25 on display. A bunch of the Model Club persuaded them to paint it like a Doolittle raider. They did, but put on Star and Bar insignia. When I finally tracked it down, they said the Base Commander didn't want the cockades. What a jerk!

Well guess we'll get crackin' on an updated package for Holloman. Sad to see the Nighthawk go. Even more sad to think that it is considered "old" technology these days.

one of my german buddies here who does hydrolics for the tornado said they might have to leave when the raptors get here, i've asked around and nobody seems to really know for sure but it will definitely be sad to see em go if they do, i've made some good friends, and will definitley miss the oktoberfest they do here!

Seems like there should be a way to use multiple AFCADs just like multiple scenery set (enable the one you want to use). I guess the AI Flight plans would have to be separate too. Oh well, just a thought.MIKE JG wrote:Well guess we'll get crackin' on an updated package for Holloman. Sad to see the Nighthawk go.
