Kipelovo Airbase - Russia

Post by flyboy208 »

Fantastic freeware (FS9) Russian/Soviet airbase - one of the home locations of the Tu-95 Bear. New Tu-95 for FS9 by Samdim Design (freeware) available at www.avsim.com here:

File Description:
Cold war emblem, Tu-95 Bear is still in service for decades. This world's fastest turboprop is declined in many variants. Here we present the modern ones - Tu-95MS strategic bomber and Tu-142M maritime patrol. Detailed visual model, authentic sounds and a complex russian-language panel without instructions (it's still in service hence it's secret). By Samdim Design group - Dimitri Samborski, Nikolai Samsonov, Peter. Good luck !

And the great photoreal liveries here:

File Description:
Photoreal repaints pack for the Alphasim payware Mig 25 FOXBAT.It contains only Soviet air force colors: single seat grey, single seat camo and 2 seaters grey inspired from MIG-25 'Foxbat' jetflight - to the 'Edge of Space'. I've also reworked the VC's, adding many details. There is also a mod effects pack to use with the Alphasim payware Tu 160 BLACKJACK installed only.

Nice find. I could use a bit of help here from anyone who can figure it out.

There're a couple of static TU-142's on the tarmac that I need to remove due to texture rendering problems in FSX.

(Other problems with this package in FSX include the Severomorsk not sitting well altitude wise and needing to relandclass the Severomorsk AB area itself - primarily making an airport boundary exclusion area.)

If anyone can figure out which bgl they are in, I'd appreciate the help.

Another question for the Ru-lingers here... what does Berbera mean?

Edited to add: The attachment is a VERY quick and dirty, very rough flatten and airbase exclusion bgl for the rough boundary of the Severomorsk-1 Airbase for those who want to try this in FSX. It is not "quality" at all.

This scenery was intended for FS9, so any implementation into FSX is a gray area, and I have no idea how to help.

I understand that the scenery is designed for FS9. I routinely try to "fix" such sceneries to work in FSX - or actually, "fix" FSX to allow those FS9 sceneries to be used.

For now.. if I can identify the bgl with the static TU-142's at Kipelovo, I can disable it and that scenery "works" as is.

The reason I mentioned Severomorsk was that an afcad for the traffic was included as a destination and it "required some FSX-work". That's all.

Other than that, the stuff works in FSX fairly well.

The only thing I see that is, to me, remotely possible would be to remove the bgls titled rusvehicles.

Removing these one at a time may remove the static aircraft.

My install didn't require any editing to get this result.

But the AFCAD and scenery needs work as there are trees and building in the middle of taxi-ways.
