RAF Leeming 1990
RAF Leeming 1990
Have finally finished all of Leeming's Tornado F3's from 1990. These are the three fancy birds that were around at the time from each squadron. Will be uploading either later on today or tomorrow. This means that there are now only the F3's from the F3OEU, ETPS and British Aerospace left to do.
Re: RAF Leeming 1990
Haha........only now do I spot it. I've forgotten to put the serial number on the 25 Sqn machine

Looking really nice - brings back memories.
The 11 Sqn machine was the Commanding Officer's (David Hamilton) aircraft, harking back to the days when Sqn leaders carried personal codes.

Re: RAF Leeming 1990
Thanks guys; after unpacking yet another box of books today I came across my copy of the Tornado photobook by Ian Black, which he released in 1990. Found some interesting serial match ups with markings, plus did you realise that the forward roundel on 23 Sqns tonkas were bigger than everyone else's? I only thought it was so on the display bird, but looking at the book, they were all like that. Even after 23 years, I'm still learning.
Edited to put my ACTUAL reason for posting: Upload will probably be late tomorrow......

Re: RAF Leeming 1990
Daryl,
There was a small error in the 23 Sqn cfg, which meant that the textures for EW and EF did not display properly.
Have attached amended cfg here.
Callsigns for these birds were as follows;
11 Sqn - Eagle and Nitro
23 Sqn - Fresco and Razor
25 Sqn - Javelin
If anyone doesn't have these in their voicepack, let me know and I'll post the vcps on this thread.
Thanks for the great repaints Daryl.

Thanks Stewart; must have happened when I had one or two odd changes to make and didn't go through them sequentially like I normally do. Shoddy work, shoddy.

Thanks guys
Re: RAF Leeming 1990
I noticed that for the ones where the droptanks were made invisible, there is still an outline of the droptank visible... Both in the "select aircraft" menu and sim (FS9)...
Re: RAF Leeming 1990
Yes there will be. It's just a quirk of using the alpha to hide stores, missiles etc. The physical model is still there, it's just the surface has been rendered "invisible". I think it's a small price to pay to get different loadouts for a model that was only made with one in mind.
