Re: Bae Hawk Solo Display Schemes
2006 saw a very radical scheme painted up on 2 of RAF Valleys Hawks (XX159 and XX245) were seen incorporating the old raspberry ripple colours with the now standard black, the Hawks also commemorated one Million UK Hawk hours and 85 years of 4FTS.

Very nice I am looking forward to these. At this rate I will have no standard painted hawks flying around

Re: Bae Hawk Solo Display Schemes
Thank you for your comments, really appreciate them...... Glad you like the look of them Nick, not too long now!
2007 saw another pair of Valley Hawks given the paint shop treatment, this time it was (XX205 and XX307) to don the special red and white swoosh design, the pair also wore a big Royal Air force text and roundel on the tail and on the intake the words RAFBF THE HEART OF THE RAF FAMILY and a heart inside a roundel..

2008 saw just the one Hawk painted in the new display scheme, XX325 wore a red white and blue lightning Zap outlined in white, an over sized roundel on the tail and undercarriage and to commemorate 90 years of the Royal Air Force a roundel and text on the front of the intake.

2009 saw the RAF Benevolent Fund celebrate 90 years, 2 Hawks from RAF Valley (XX245 and XX307) where seen in the standard black gloss with a blue peeling paint effect and a red stripe outlined in white lead to a union jack on the tail, on the undercarriage was a big roundel with a heart in the middle.

Re: Bae Hawk Solo Display Schemes
For 2010 RAF Valley painted up (XX201 and XX263) to Celebrate 50 years of 4FTS/208 Squadron, both Hawks were painted in a stunning take on the union jack, with an oversized squadron badge on the tail and in white text "4FTS 50 Years" on the top of the tail.

Just incredible workmanship on those paints, very well done. The NBAI Hawk is by far my favourite AI aircraft. With all these terrific paint schemes for it, it might be time to give a multi-player FDE and animations to suit.
Re: Bae Hawk Solo Display Schemes
great work, I really love that 2009 scheme

Re: Bae Hawk Solo Display Schemes
As we head to 2011 we see RAF Valley celebrating its 70th anniversary, Hawks (XX244 and XX245) were painted in a red white and blue design, an oversized Station Crest/badge on the tail and above that a 70th text in white, above the intakes a Royal Air Forces Association logo and under the front of the cockpit a wings appeal logo, above that the pilots name, Flt Lt Jules Fleming the first ever Hawk T1 female solo display pilot...

Re: Bae Hawk Solo Display Schemes
2012 was a sad year for me, knowing it would be the last ever special display scheme to grace my favorite jet, ive been a massive fan of hawk since my childhood, watching it fly the skies of Wales where i spent most of my time growing up, i even wanted to be a Hawk pilot but in life our dreams sometimes take us along other paths. painting this superb ai model by Nick has been a real joy, and to be very honest its probably the easiest model ive ever had the privilege to paint, in fact it screams paint me!
Its not all sad though, although the T1's are gradually fading out of RAF service there is a new kid on the block and has been for sometime, to me the T2 is as elegant as the T1 ever was, its mightier, faster and is a great replacement jet trainer to the now aging T1's, i can only imagine what schemes we have to look forward to once the T2 hits the display circuit in 2014?
2012 XX278 (Solo Display) 4FTS/208 Sqn RAF Valley
Why no image you say!! well Dinga69 has already painted this up so i felt no need to do it!!
Once the pack has been checked for paint spillages and unglued decals, a link will become available here!! thank you for your patience!

Re: Bae Hawk Solo Display Schemes
What a cracking collection of Hawks you've made there mate - and don't be sad, the T1a's are around for a few more years yet!! And if you really want to paint more specials, 100 Sqn have had a couple more over the years, not forgetting 19 Sqn's Anni jets too. I've really enjoyed following this thread!!!

Re: Bae Hawk Solo Display Schemes
Yeh me too. I'd really like to see more of this kind of thing. Maybe you could do some high quality paints for all hawk users like the export hawk packages that we did including any special schemes.

Re: Bae Hawk Solo Display Schemes
Thanks Guys!!!
Its good to see that the 2012 Display jet is still hitting the Airshows this season but once the T1's do finally retire in the next few years we still have the Red Arrows right, although who knows how long they will still use T1 for and will they ever use the T2?
Hmmm
The Future? Bae Hawk T2 ZK001 (Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team) The Reds RAF Scampton
I am planning on doing all the Anniversary schemes aswell, then back to the 100 and 200 models to finish off them, so quite a few more from me yet!!
thanks again for looking!!

I had heard a rumour that the reds will change to the Tucano once the T1 is fully retired.Tranquil wrote:we still have the Red Arrows right, although who knows how long they will still use T1 for and will they ever use the T2?
Cracking paint on the T2 though

Re: Bae Hawk Solo Display Schemes
Thanks for the info Dale, hopefully just a rumor, As much as i like the Tuc it just wont have the same appeal as the those Rolls-Royce Adour engines!!!

Re: Bae Hawk Solo Display Schemes
Sounds like further cost cutting to go to turbo props, that what they did Downunder also. Doesn't seem the same without the jet nose behind it.
Re: Bae Hawk Solo Display Schemes
The Red Tucano's! Run.....run for cover
I think with the amount of spares, the T1's should be going for a few years yet PROVIDED they do not (as frequently rumoured) become another victim of cuts. It's a funny old world.
Mark, if ever sim-porn really existed, this is it mate. I've said in the past and will keep saying it - your work is stunning and I really cannot wait to get hold of these babies
