I just uploaded RI Bong AFB (B-47/KC-97) version to AVSIM and Flightsim. com. This is the first of two versions, as there will be a B-52/KC-135 version as well. Some of the facilities will change due to the larger aircraft in the B-52 version, along with the parking layout. Since there was no buildings built at the time of the base being closed I used some creative licensing, and my knowledge of base layouts from growing up an Air Force brat, and my 12 actual years of serving in the Air Force.

Re: R.I. Bong AFB-FSX
Larry, a couple of question.
Does it work also in FS9?
Supposing that they are AI aircraft, where did you get KC97 and B-47?
Thanks, Giorgio

Re: R.I. Bong AFB-FSX
The (K)C-97 could be either from Dee Waldron or California Classic Propliners according to The Owl's Nest
But the B-47 is also big news for me.

Re: R.I. Bong AFB-FSX
KC-97 are indeed Dee Waldron's AI from the Cal Cassic propliners, with Michael Pearson's textures. The B-47 is from Alphasim/Vertavia B-47 for FS-9. It possibly could work if you convert the file using ADEX, but I am not for certain on that.

Re: R.I. Bong AFB-FSX
Sweet! I've been using the aircraft, traffic, and scenery from Cal Classic but I don't think anything I have has Mike Pearson's textures. Can't wait to download this one. Thanks!
I have a C45 almost ready for beta.

Re: R.I. Bong AFB-FSX
The ADEX file can be converted with the FSX2FS9 tool from ScruffyDuck, but I'm not sure if objects/effects will follow the conversion.ruggerfan wrote:KC-97 are indeed Dee Waldron's AI from the Cal Cassic propliners, with Michael Pearson's textures. Edit: The base converted just fine, but sadly it's placed a bit too far north in FS9 (or at least in relation to Ultimate Terrain), leaving the QRA "Xmas trees" in some lakes. It can be moved to it's correct place in ADE9, but that requires the Pro key, which I don't have...
Re: R.I. Bong AFB-FSX
Actually RKE, it needs to br moved west of that position. The ponds are ENE of the runway/christmas tree.

Re: R.I. Bong AFB-FSX
I was using the road network for reference. On second look in Google Earth, it looks like the ponds are water traps at the local golf course
Edit: And on second look, a rotation might be required as well
Ah well, might as well stick to the FSX-only label. Was worth a try converting it
