Re: Century Series (American Heavy Metal)
Got it, I can certainly fix that. The red on the speedbrake came from some year of the scheme, so it's not consistent over the years.....
Re: Century Series (American Heavy Metal)
Thanks for the remaining Century series updates Mike.....

Re: Century Series (American Heavy Metal)
These are going pretty quickly now, full single-LOD betas for final check and FDE finish, then multi-LOD, then package. The late canopy variant is here as well.
Re: Century Series (American Heavy Metal)
These are stunning !!!
Always loved the 106..... Thank you

Paul

They are even more stunning in the sim.
I'm ~90% done on the AI FDE for the MPAI F-106A and it really is a great model to work with.

I'm fixing big things today....... But I am trying to get the F-101 up to the same standard within the next week or so. It's gonna be a great holiday season......

Re: Century Series (American Heavy Metal)
Here's the next model to get to single-LOD (nearly finished) alpha, which is quite a short hop from multi-LOD beta. When I add the alpha channel to this metal texture, the flight line will be blinding, to be sure.

Oohhh yeh! My Silverwings era is going to be so busy!! Thanks so much for doing these, Mike.

Century Series looking great. Very nice work. Looking forward to adding F101, KC135A and the already released B-52D to the beautiful Glasgow AFB, MT.

Re: Century Series (American Heavy Metal)
Have you seen what I've done with the F-4 and F-104, and you would think that I would actually forget a QF model for anything? I'll just laugh a little bit at that one, and never fear.......

Re: Century Series (American Heavy Metal)
Here are the 99.9% completed single-LOD first-run beta models for the F-101A/C, F-101B, and RF-101A/C; just a few antennae away from being ready for multi-LOD. I still have to do the RF-101G/H, it's a little different nose job, but these are pretty much the core models.
The wing walk antiskid area is a little dodgy, but to properly fix it would require a complete re-build of the aircraft. This was a primitive model I started two years ago, then applied some more modern technique to make it a one-piece fuselage/wings thing, but I didn't catch the wing-root issue until I was trying to figure out the antiskid panels. So, this falls into my "90%" rule for AI modeling (my apologies to the purists). I fixed it by making a copy of the wing root (about five polys on each side), re-mapping to the antiskid, then raising the part 0.002 meters above the other part so there isn't any conflict. They only look a little weird from the side vew, the overhead looks pretty good.
I think November will be a triple-crown kind of month for this thread, if I don't accidentally run Mike Mac into the ground first, lol. There is nothing accidental about the first finished B paint being from the Maine ANG (MM's corner of the world). And, I have done the alpha channel for the metal, it looks pretty, well, shiny, lol......
