I am hoping to populate my UK2000 EGNJ Humberside scenery with a Bristow Super Puma or two.
I notice a repaint earlier in the thread, did it ever make it out the door?

Then: I dropped AI_MKAI_AS532U2_Cougar RNLAF from a link above into the scenery, and found a couple of oddities:
1. The sliding doors are open throughout, but more seriously
2. The aircraft taxi's to the active, then bumbles down the runway into the middle distance, never taking off!

Any help gratefully received...

The Bristow paint has not appeared yet.

The helicopter will not take-off because of a fault in the afcad/ADE. The hold short positions are too far from the runway.
Afcad and ADE recognise the blastpad, the part with yellow chevrons on, as part of the runway for hold short limits.

The simulator does not.

Rename the hold-short node to a normal node. Then rename a node closer to the actual runway to hold-short node. The circle must touch the actual runway.

Alternatively lengthen the runway with a displaced threshold.

Thanks for the reply, John.
I'm not sure if you refer specifically to the hold shorts at the UK2000 scenery, or just in general.
Thing is, swapping a UTT S-76 into the flightplan works just fine.

I did tinker with the HS nodes, moving them even closer, to no effect.
Just for interest, I took the Puma to an airfield far, far away, and had the same problem.
It goes very slowly down the runway wagging its tail slightly but never takes off.
A mystery, and a pity.

I am wondering if I can be the only one to have this issue?

Cheers

It would seem that the problem is related to the specific model.

I had a similar problem with a ADE for another airport that I created. Aircraft would enter but not take off.

I will install the helo's and have a look.

There is no problem with the cougars.

I am assuming you are using Humberside as the airport. I experienced a similar thing with the old UK2000 scenery afcad.
The helicopter enters to backtrack runway 03. A small GA aircraft taxis on the grass taxiway and also goes past the hold short on the cross runway 09.

This afcad has taxiways on the runway to help traffic 'movement'. Delete all the runway a taxi nodes to the south of runway 09/27.
Redraw the runway link and this should solve your symptoms.

As to why this only happens to the Cougar, this could be related to the sequencing of the traffic.

John thanks for looking, and I'm glad the aircraft works on your system.
I am about 99% sure it is not an afcad problem, as mentioned it does this at another simple airfield with no other AI.
Plugging in the UTT S-76 in both instances solves the problem, so it is a global setting somewhere that is at odds with this model's FDE.

The last time I had a mystery AI problem it turned out to be the high taxi speeds I use in the sim.
(Not this time, I checked).
Who knows what it might be this time?

Be nice to see the Bristow repaint emerge nonetheless; the workaround for me would be to drop it into Flight 1's AI helo package.

Cheers

Just a note:
I got few mails that doors should be closed in flight as these are civilian versions etc, so I will try to make same models but with closed doors in flight.
