Re: RAF Brüggen FSX/P3D - Coming, but NOT soon....
If it helps, my Dad was Stn Cdr at Gutersloh from 1974-76 (last of the Lightnings), and I was an RAF C130 pilot from 1980-1998, and often visited all of the RAFG bases. My own memories of details may not be great, but I have access to the collective memories of the Herc fleet from that time, so I may be able to source answers or even pictures from those days.
Edit: several of my colleagues at Virgin were Tonka pilots during that time also, so they may also be able to help.

Please accept my apologies, I know about the slow progress (on the one hand really few spare time, on the other hand too little brain to dig the skills quick enough which are needed for hitch-free designing :p...)
@Tim: Sorry for delay, I will come back to your kind offer if needed. Meanwhile the two vids are jewels to get most of the objects built...
Anyway, today some first shots of the ongoing night texturing (even this was not easy to me to get the light cones transparent at night - thanks therefore to Dave Hoeffgen...)
QRA lighting (includes dynamic lighting but man, that drops frames in a really hard way...)
First road lighting...tricky to get the light beams on ground without losing the ground structures...
But now that I dig it night lighting will go on really quickly. Shots will follow soon...

Thank you both. Yap, the Cobra is a wonderful car to explore sceneries....

Looks really nice...what penalty does it have on performance..if any?

Thank you. With enabled dynamic lights it's heavy in all honesty. So I minimize the DL usage for the main aprons and main HAS areas (like the QRA preferentially). All minor areas like the streets come without DL so that works fine almost without framerate drop. I still have an annoying rig (i-5 2500 @ 3.7Ghz), so I am striving to get halfway fluent frames. Everything that runs almost fine on my rig should work fine on better ones....

I hope your aircraft recognition is better than your car recognition - it’s a Dodge Viper, not a Cobra!
Re: RAF Brüggen FSX/P3D - Coming, but NOT soon....
For sure - my aircraft recognition is fantastic. BTW: Great shot of a C-5 Galaxy in your signature....

Haha! No, that’s the Millenium Falcon!

Hi everybody,
just noticed there was also a firedump with a shredded Canberra known as "hill 60". Can anybody tell me where it was located, please?

Re: RAF Brüggen FSX/P3D - Coming, but NOT soon....
If I have no information about the firedump, I will create a scene wherein the tower is burning down twice a day via SODE!!!!! And the fire heroes will not be able to fight the fire just because they have no place for practices!!!!
Seriously now....
At first appereance not a milestone, but to me finally the last piece of the puzzle to get more reality into the scenery.
Today I added the first bump maps to the groundpolys, to the concrete areas at first. Not many will follow because of the performance and the upload size in mind. Furthermore, most grass textures are fine enough to fake 3D vegetation....Same with buildings....

Thank you, Paul. Bother! Another site to dig. I assumed it was finally done....

Re: RAF Brüggen FSX/P3D - Coming, but NOT soon....
I have to apologize again - but it has been really hard weeks in life since summer so only few minutes left to get my hands on Brüggen last months.
Hope next weeks I can do some more final steps (setting fences, final cars, 3-D grass, corrections to some bleeding ground polys...).
Just to keep you in line and a proof of a living project some overviews and how the whole airfield is now fitting almost fine into the surrounding ORBX-area... And that a high level of details needs some time for realisation ...
