Today, the last airworthy S-3 Viking, flown by NASA's Glenn Research Center, has officially been retired. N601NA, formerly BuNo 160607, is the last S-3 that rolled off the production line at Burbank. It has been the only flying S-3 since VX-30 retired theirs in 2016. This Hoover will be heading to the San Diego Air and Space Museum to be put on display.

Re: The Last Viking
Yesterday, N601NA made it's final flight from Cleveland, with a stopover in El Paso, finally arriving in San Diego where it made a touch and go at NAS North Island, then flew to and landed at Gillespie Field, where the Hoover will be put on display.
Many members of the Viking community were at North Island and Gillespie to watch the last Viking fly one final time.
