Re: JYAI EA-6B Prowlers
Glad I could help a little, as I'm so excited to finally see an FS9 Prowler!

Re: JYAI EA-6B Prowlers
Wonderful. Lovely work John. Must dig out my copy of GMax seeing that FSDS is getting a bit long in the tooth

Re: JYAI EA-6B Prowlers
I'm really pleased with the way the Prowler has turned out Mark. I'm just finishing the last of the paints and I'll post some screen shots in the next day or so.
I had been thinking about flight planning and scenery, but I'm going to stick to my original plan and provide aircraft only for FS9 and FSX/P3D. It's too big a job for 4 sim versions and in any case, users will probably want to customise how they are set up in their own sims. I've selected the period for the paints at the end of the Prowler service. Users could opt for Prowler/Growler change-over scenarios. There are quite a few photos on the net, where the two types are seen in formation together for the units I've chosen. There is also a wet FDE and models so the Prowlers can be embarked on carriers.
Yes indeed, rather than get bogged down with scenery and flight plans, I am planning to get on with the Intruder and a few paints too, but as separate packages.

That's great John .I haven't done any sim stuff for a few years now ..I found that my sim was so slow and started doing other things but I'm thinking about starting repaints again ..Have done a few Tomcat units ,well one of each ..But your EA-6 dose lok the part ..

Re: JYAI EA-6B Prowlers
So, there are 28 Prowlers in 5 Squadrons - 3 USMC and 2 USN. There are 7 model variations, including 2 carrier models with folding wings and a "wet" FDE, for FS9 and FSX/P3D. The screen shots are from FSX with the exception of the final 3 which are from P3Dv5.2 (I just can't get the day settings right to be satisfied with screen shots from that sim version yet).
The serial numbers were quite difficult to verify. We've always known that the USN and USMC swap their aircraft around quite regularly, but if you add in the changes of ship allocations and frequent new paint schemes, it's hard enough. What further complicates the picture, is it that towards the end of the Prowler life, some aircraft were moved from one squadron to another. That means it is possible to see the same serial number more than once, because the unit closures were separated by short periods of time.
I think there's enough to keep people busy, including painters if they wanted to tackle some of the earlier schemes, some of which are quite exotic. This is what will be in the uploads:
The scenery needed is Whidbey Island for the USN aircraft and Cherry Point for the USMC aircraft. USMC units also sometimes deployed overseas, particularly to Atsugi in Japan, but I believe they did not operate from carriers. I'll leave it to users to sort out scenery along with flight plans.
Next job is to document and package up, ready for upload before Christmas hopefully.

Re: JYAI EA-6B Prowlers
I just used the one that we used for the F-35C's - “carr2006.zip" at flightsim.com, Dave. I'll include the link in the Prowler manual and also for FSX/P3D too.

Re: JYAI EA-6B Prowlers
Excellent work and nice to see the normal attention to detail (speedbrakes always deployed for landing). USMC stopped making boat dets in mid-1990s.

Re: JYAI EA-6B Prowlers
What a job John !! Thanks a lot for this Christmas present !!!
Nice model.
I am sad that this is your last model for FS9. But I totally understand your point of view. So much work for very few people (including me) who still use FS9. It is no longer worth the trouble.
