NBAI Boeing CH-47D Chinooks Painted as MH-47G

Post by flyerkg »

I was recently interested in simulating MH-47s at Joint Base Lewis - McChord. Here is a screenshot of repaints of the fabulous Nick Black's CH-47D only missing the refuel probe and other Special Ops equipment.

I pulled some of Menno's Ft. Campbell package that has textures for 160th SOAR Chinooks to fill in at JBLM, but those look great. Need to convince someone to add the IFR probe and big fuel tank sides.

It could probably be possible to add/append a refueling probe with ModelConverterX but the recompilation is more difficult.

Thanks all for replies. I've looked at ModelConverterX briefly, but have a lot to learn.

The fuel tanks are pretty fat on the MH-47s. Also, noticed a few recent photos that look like some sort of heat shield around the exhausts on the engines.

Also I would look at using the "ch47D_414" model to get the longer nose. As far as I can see, only US MHs and Canadian CH-147F use the larger fuel tanks.

Very good idea on the ch47D_414 model. It does more closely resemble the MH-47G.

TO append a probe, you must have one from another object (design by Sketchup for exemple). And append it to the original model . But the compilation need some ajustements
