The Vulcan flies!!

Post by VulcanDriver »

After many years of hard work, sweat and tears, Avro Vulcan XH558 has taken to the skies over Leicestershire where it is now based. She's in private hands now ad will be appearing at air shows in the UK next year. How about an AI version to celebrate

Sweet, I remember that thing making the airshow rounds here in the U.S. when I was just a wee little boy.

Yeah she's a fantastic sight in the air. And her unique engine note 'the Vulcan howl' (actually the air flowing across the intakes - blow over a neck of a beer bottle to hear what I mean!) makes many a grown man weep with joy!

Going to be a huge attraction on the UK circuit next year. Any show that gets it is going to see a bumper attendance!

I think she stopped flying in 92. I was luck enough to see her display at Brize Norton that year. Fantastic take-off for such a heavyweight!
