Maybe a Gulfport Combat Readiness Training Center at Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport (KGPT) will be in the works.

http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/ ... t-crtc.htm

The CRTC has bed space for approximately 1,000 personnel and can accommodate up to three separate flying units simultaneously. Flight line ramp space can support up to nine C-5s, twenty-two KC-135s or one hundred fighters. More than 20,000 Air Guard and Reserve flight personnel are trained at the base annually

Sounds like a very busy ramp plus the Aviation Classification Repair Depot which repairs several types of combat and transport helicopters for military activities throughout the Southeast and Puerto Rico is there so lots of room for helicopter traffic also.

KGPT had over 85,809 aircraft operations, an average of 235 per day in 2006.

What knid of planes are based at Volk? I know there are F-16's at Truax Field and KC-135's at Mitchell Field but Im not sure what is based at Volk.

Joseph, I don't think anything is based there on a permanent basis. There are units that come through for workups pre-deployment but nothing that is stationed there that I know of.

Mike is correct: there are no aircraft there on a permanent basis. The 128th ACS is assigned there but have no aircraft.

Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to work with my FSX installation at all due to elevation issues.

Too bad, from what I can see, it would be a really nice addition to "my world".
