Wichita Falls - Officials at Sheppard Air force Base are confirming that two pilots were killed this morning when a T-38 Talon jet crashed while apparently doing touch and go landings. Base officials are investigating the crash that happened on one of the runways.
Emergency crews at Sheppard were called to the crash site about 7:45 AM Thursday morning. It is presumed the two pilots in the jet were an instructor and a student pilot. Witnesses tell KAUZ Channel 6 News one of the pilots ejected. Another witness also told KAUZ that it appeared there were engine parts on the runway.
A news conference is being held at 12:00 o'clock noon to brief the media on the information gathered thus far. KAUZ Channel 6 news will be broadcasting the news
