Re: My Flightplans
Flightplans for the Algerian IL76/8s can be found here:
http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?Ca ... LID=144166
They are set up using FSX days but AI Flight Planner can quickly fix that for FS9 users.

That FP doesn't contain every aircraft that is painted. So if James wants to do them, you're welcome!regan123 wrote:Flightplans for the Algerian IL76/8s can be found here:

Re: My Flightplans
The other things with those flightplans;
The Il-76/78 home base is DAAK, not DAAG.
The Il-78s are unlikely to go outside Algeria.

Re: My Flightplans
Hey James.
I'm installing some of your Yak-40 plans and stumbled upon something I had noticed before: be aware that Rip's Flightplan Generator gives totally random, unrealistic and even impossible flight levels. Now you can choose to keep those flight levels which is your right, but if you want to make your flightplans even better then you might want to read on
Take the Czech Air Force Yak-40's for example. You have them flying as high as FL360 although the service ceiling of the Yak-40 is only 26000 feet. Ideally for max performance (and depending on the distance) you will find them cruising around FL230. You can find info like this on the aircraft type's Wikipedia page for example.
Now if we take this leg:
2/08:03:00,2/08:24:58,312,F,1,LKPD,2/11:11:00,2/11:32:58,309,F,1,LKKB
You see that the aircraft flies from LKKB to LKPD and back at FL312 and FL309 respectively. But the distance between LKKB and LKPD is only 47NM! The aircraft will never ever get to a flight level that high. You can calculate the distance on sites like Great Circle Mapper. Don't forget to change the unit from Statute Miles (mi) to Nautical Miles (nm).
Rip's tool will also give you numbers that aren't actual flight levels. FL312 should be either FL310 or FL320. FL309 should be either FL300 or FL310, never something in between. There are some exceptions like France where military flights ("CAM") will fly on levels ending on a 5 like FL305 or FL315 but the general rule is to round it off to the nearest 10000 feet.
Still following?
Now how to pick a good flight level to make your plans realistic within the limitations of FS9? Calculate the distance between the departure and destination in NM, then round that distance off to a correct flight level. If the distance is 107NM for example, set the flight level to FL100 or FL110. Never go higher than the aircraft's ceiling though.
To make your plans ultrarealistic there is also something called "the semicircular rule" which is used in practically the whole world. Basically, it says that westbound flights should operate on even levels, while eastbound flights should operate on odd levels. Look up "semicircular flight levels" in Google if you want to know more.
That's it. Please don't take this as negative criticism. You're already doing a good job, I just want to help you get even better

I tend to add a 1 at the end like FL301 to get some separation when spawning if it is a multiple flight
Cheers

I do a similar thing, by adding 1 minute on each multiple flights times.Garysb wrote:Greg

Sure, but the leader is flying at FL300 right?Garysb wrote:I tend to add a 1 at the end like FL301 to get some separation when spawning if it is a multiple flight.
Technically, ICAO dictates that all elements of a formation should be at the same level and within 1NM horizontally. This can be changed to 100' vertically and 3NM horizontally if the controller agrees so you can add 100' to the wingman's flightplan and still be realistic

Re: My Flightplans
Algerian Ilyushins for Luciano's repaints...
Don't worry if you find one at Denver or Fort Lauderdale... there are photos showing these aircrafts there!
As for the refuellers, sometimes they have been spotted at Moscow (maintenance?) so they also fly there.
EDIT: also based at Boufarik are the Algerian AF Hercules, for which I made flightplans in the past, they are in the very first page of this thread.

Of course you will be listed as the author of the schedule.
Excellent paints indeed!
I replaced the old Simlandmarks model with the MACK one!
