Re: Thunderbirds
That makes sense. They already confirmed for Koksijde on 6 & 7 July.

I suppose they will bes based at Chievres (EBCV) during this week end.Tirithon wrote:That makes sense. They already confirmed for Koksijde on 6 & 7 July.
Last time (at least 10 years go) they comes to Koksijde/Coxyde (EBFN), they stay at Chievres (US Base in Belgium).
Re: Thunderbirds
Believe it or not, but they will fly from Koksijde. One of our guys went to the States to meet them in person and he must have been very convincing
Re: Thunderbirds
They are coming to Italy too and should perform in Jesolo, close to Venice.
Re: Thunderbirds
Yesterday I was in Jesolo for the "Airextreme Airshow" and I drove till there (more than 300 km) just to see the Thunderbirds exibition. There were also the italian team Frecce Tricolori, Breitling Jet Team with 7 Aero L-39 Albatros, and single exibition of a Typhoon (awesome); AMX; MB-339 CD, C-27J and so on.
No offence to anyone, especially for the yankees, but I was disappointed by the exibition of Thunderbirds. Too much time between a fly-pass and another and not so many acrobatics manouvres. I think it's much more a "muscular" exibition of the extraordinary capacity of the Falcons, rather then an acrobatic show.
That's my opinion.
Now I'm ready to be kicked in my...

I have to agree with Bismarck, I watched the T-Birds at Nellis last year and practicing earlier this year. They seem to do a lot of formation fly by's but no real maneuvers. The Reds still do it better for me.........

It's close, but for me it's got to be the Frecce!jaguar1 wrote:I have to agree with Bismarck, I watched the T-Birds at Nellis last year and practicing earlier this year. They seem to do a lot of formation fly by's but no real maneuvers. The Reds still do it better for me.........

Re: Thunderbirds
Correct me if I'm wrong but the thunderbirds are an "Air Demonstration Squadron " not an aerobatic team
That could be the difference !

Re: Thunderbirds
I have no doubt they are more conservative than other teams. Both US teams only fly 6 aircraft formations versus larger formations for just about everyone else. I think it's just a different culture for US military teams in general.
Both US teams have had some "issues" in the last couple years. If anything I would expect them to be a bit more conservative these days.
