Absolutely right, Gary. Although I think that Martin would like me to mention that his AI Aircraft Editor tool, available from his Owls Nest, can also do this.

Does anybody know where I can get an AFCAD for the following:

UIIB,N52* 55.13',E103* 33.88',1499

Its for Belaya found in the Tu-22M3 package and after a search I have come up with a blank. Even tried Avsim.ru but failed miserably

Tks

In the Tolmachevo traffic pack from Avsimrus there is an installer that loads many russian military and civil afcads. It includes what looks like a good quality afcad for Belaya. The surfaces should display as a sort of dilapidated concrete texture, which is very atmospheric.

I recommend it. Apparently the ai aircraft in this pack are not "purpose built", but it's maybe a good place o start? My lowly system copes well, probably because Russia in general is not too demanding on processor power (not as much ai compared to Europe or America).

Hi,

I was looking in the texture folders and wondered why some aircraft have just the "SBAI_Tu-22M3_T.bmp" file, whereas others have the additional "SBAI_Tu-22M3_l.bmp" as well. However, I do realise why only some have the "AI_sib_weapons.bmp" file.

Should we be copying and pasting the "SBAI_Tu-22M3_l.bmp" file into the other folders, like with the Billy Rutherford repaints?

Also, some of the cfg entries are:

model=clear

yet there is no "clear" model folder. I presume the "clear" should be deleted from the cfg entry, to use the model folder just called "model".

Cheers

ps. Looking forward to seeing this one come alive in my FS! Thank you Sergei et al :D

I have completely redone the aircraft.cfg.... :)
Another problem I have is with "Left" model. I can't see any missile on the left...

When are one of you guys going to do a MAIW style package for these Russian beauties? We're too busy to do it ourselves.

There's not much information on UIIB searched for about an hr, I looked on google earth and found it and thought that it would be a good AFCAD to do.

The afcad that I have for Belaya is N52* 55' 8.21" E103* 33' 53.00" and 1499.34' Which is close enough.

Its not the format of the coords that it didn't like is it?

My Afcad has the hemisphere designators at the beginning of each co-ordinate, as in Steve's post.

Will you be sharing this Afcad with us? That would be nice :)

I wondered whether you were into using the "steel" texture setting in Afcad, as it comes out looking like dilapidated concrete in my FS. Which looks very authentic for these rotting russian bases...

I could probably track down and post the relevant texture if enough people wanted it. Alternatively I think I originally got it from installing that Tolmachevo traffic pack.

I doubt it's the cause of your problem, but you're using runway links between the runway and the hold-short nodes. Try using taxiway links for them. Could FS be getting confused by runway links going off in different directions?

I'd be surprised, but you never know...

Well, I finally got it working and at the present adding buildings and trees. Who knows of some good trees, the ones I have look kinda crappy. When I finish this one I will post it to any one who wants it if there is anyone who wants to add some flightplans and repaints then it could be put together as a package.
