Re: F-35 Variants (FS9, FSX and P3Dv4)

Thanks for the explanation Steve, makes sense. However it does bring up another question. A number of the recent packages have used FS9 scenery in FSX. The instructions that come with the packages usually say something like download and install the FS9 scenery, then delete and substitute specific fi...

Re: F-35 Variants (FS9, FSX and P3Dv4)

Thanks for the information, very helpful. I place scenery object libraries like the MAIW Scenery Library Objects as far down in the FSX scenery library as possbile, just above the generic scenery that comes with FSX. Individual scenery packages are toward the top of the list when opening the FSX sce...

Re: F-35 Variants (FS9, FSX and P3Dv4)

John, I placed the DCA textures in my equivalent of your static objects folder, and the fence textures appeared. The next question; why would the textures appear when placed in the static objects texture folder and not appear when placed in the Luke texture folder? Just curious. Thanks for pointing ...

Re: F-35 Variants (FS9, FSX and P3Dv4)

I placed the DCAfence.bmp and DCADCAfence_lm.bmp files in the MAIW Luke AFB (KLUF) texture folder. I assumed that because both files were bitmaps they belonged in a texture folder, correct?

Re: F-35 Variants (FS9, FSX and P3Dv4)

Thanks for the files and the help Steve, unfortunately the files didn't resolve the issue. To the west of RWY 32 there appears to be an interior fence that snakes through the base. I know enough to be dangerous. In the scenery folder the is a file EZ_Hill InteriorFence.BGL. I'm assuming that this fi...

Thanks for the help Steve, I appreciate it, I'll give it a try. For the callsigns that don't work by changing the extension, I try and create my own.

Re: F-35 Variants (FS9, FSX and P3Dv4)

I am just getting around to installing the F-35 packages and I'm working through a couple of issues. The easiest one first. It appears that the perimeter fence textures for Hill AFB and Luke AFB are missing. There is a black wall around various points of the facility. Is there a way to determine wha...

Re: Looking For Callsigns

This may be a very basic question; will vcpmod callsign files work in FSX or do they need to be converted to evpmod format to work?

Re: Install FSX Windows 10

OK, have it running. Downloaded version 3.2.21 again and didn't find the .ini file. Re-installed version 3.2.19 with the .ini file, made the necessary modifications and everything is working. Modified both the Path to FSX and path to FSX.cfg. If there is anything else I need to change, could you let...

Re: Install FSX Windows 10

This is what is in the AppPath: D:\Microsoft\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ I am unable to find an AIFP.ini file. I saved a couple of older versions of AIFP and version 3.2.18 has an AIFP.ini file, the version I downloaded does not. I am going to try and download 3.2.21 again and if the .ini file is ...

Re: Install FSX Windows 10

Hi Steve, yes I have used AIFP for FS9 and didn't have any issues. However I had FS9 installed to the default location and I had AIFP located in a FS9 Utilities folder. I can't seem to either find or open the .ini file. I'm assuming the AIFP3 file is the .ini file, however I 'm not sure how to open ...

Re: Install FSX Windows 10

Another question. If FSX is installed to another location, other than the default drive and location, how do programs know where to find FSX? On my computer the default drive is C\ however when I attempt to run AIFP I receive a message; "No version of FlightSim found in System Registry. AIFP cannot ...

Re: Install FSX Windows 10

Hi Steve and thanks for the detailed response. This is all pretty new to me so I'm going to need a little bit of time to wade through all this. Downloaded Minitool Partition Wizard and I'm going to do some reading from the website and explore the layout and functionality of the program. Thanks for t...

Install FSX Windows 10

I would like some advice on installing FSX on a new computer. I’ve reviewed some of the previous postings and it doesn’t appear that partitioning the hard drive is an option. The computer came with the software installed and if I understand some of the earlier posts correctly, the drive should be pa...
