Re: Brize Norton

Is that available anywhere mate? It's the UK2000 scenery (now freeware). The link is just some post above ;-) Ta, silly me :D Is that converted to P3D by yourself? Ok, this is the UK2000 VFR Volume 1 (I think) V2.0 package, which is not freeware. It was last updated in 2016, and is FSX/P3D compatib...

Re: [Search] Cambridge EGSC - Marshall's C130s

I've taxied a C130 on the grass at Cambridge, so it's not that unprototypical - but you'd normally have the aircraft 'strip-prepped', with all the underside aerials protected. Edit: you're quite correct that it's still payware. My mistake; I had thought the VFR series had become freeware as it's now...

Re: Brize Norton

This is the UK2 BZN in P3Dv4.5 with MAIW traffic (and some UK2 static aircraft, which I must try and get rid of!).

Re: MAIW MCAI de Havilland Canada DHC-1 Chipmunk Conversion Support

Cheers guys. John, I'll have a look at the contact points. I did notice that the stock J3 Cub had similar problems when used as AI by Just Flight's Traffic Global (as well as trying to fly - unsuccessfully - at 30kts!). I might have a look and see if there is a taildragger that does work correctly a...

Re: MAIW MCAI de Havilland Canada DHC-1 Chipmunk Conversion Support

Martin, I popped into Swinderby yesterday and found the EFTS Chipmunks wandering around the airfield trying to find the taxiways. I'd noticed this behaviour with my own conversion of the Chippy for Finningley and haven't found an answer, but it seems the Chipmunk's taxiing turn radius is too large. ...

Re: A brand new MS Flight Simulator is coming...

Something that we all can relate to, Tim. I'd love to be able to give a rational reply to that! I can't even rely on my kids to peg me down a bit; one is in the Army and loves combat games, the other is a full-time commentator on FPS sandpit games like Rainbow 6 and she regards me as a part-time co...

Another place that's reasonably well covered by the UK2000 VFR series (now freeware).

I downloaded those a month or so ago. I seem to have the HAS's stuck on a winter texture but, that aside they're ok.

Re: A brand new MS Flight Simulator is coming...

Obviously we won't know for sure until it's released to retail, and in these strange times nothing can be taken for granted, but I'm reasonably confident that we'll be able to make a one-time purchase. How much that will be is another question! I remember wincing at paying $70 for FSXA (in New York ...

From ArsTechnica 30/9/2019: "Yes, Microsoft Flight Simulator will come to Xbox consoles at some point, Neumann said, and it will be an Xbox Game Pass title on that platform, just like its Windows 10 version will be. And, yes, the game will be available either as part of XGP or as a standalone purcha...

Re: A brand new MS Flight Simulator is coming...

Microsoft stated explicitly a little while ago that it would not be subscription-based, Steve. I’ll see if I can find that statement, but it may be quoted earlier in this thread. That doesn’t mean that there won’t be a subscription required to get updates for the NavBlue data, but - like several FS/...

Re: MAIW and Prepar3DV5 ?

I note that Don has discovered that AIFP is somewhat hampered by the updating of many, many airfields' positions and ID codes in P3Dv5. He's working on it, but has expressed some concern that legacy flight plans may well not work in the new sim. I'm still not really using it as my AMD setup isn't co...

Ado, I'm doing the hangar as part of Lossiemouth, which is of course very important in the UK Typhoon picture. John's P-8A Poseidon plus RAF repaints and flight plans have already been made and are in the Download Hangar.

Re: Eurofighter Typhoon

John, no need to worry about doing this on my account. I'm enjoying making my own - though I still have to master anything to do with textures! I have a new version of the P-8 hangar nearly ready to go, with the raised car park, main entrance, and some of the bund represented. As the real thing is a...

Re: Help with AIFP

The default AFCAD for P3D v5 does have 5 helipad parking spots. Sorry, Joseph, but the P3Dv5 29 Palms has no parking whatsoever. It does have 5 helo start points, but those aren't parking spots. You'll need to add parking if you want your AI to go there and not just disappear. Nothing will spawn th...

Re: Eurofighter Typhoon

Yes, no problem. John has the building now, with a quickly-modded AFCAD to include its ramp and the huge approach taxiway. I’ll see if I can do something to represent the earthworks without needing to modify the terrain. Many years ago I used to wander round that part of the airfield and up round th...
