Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

Thanks for the clarification, Steve. So with that being said... Also this is (horrible) news to me as well; where are we supposed to go to get this new great stuff??? I believe that I can probably make some of it - the stuff without complex copyright considerations - available via a free site which ...

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

Ah, it may be that I have access to that thread which isn't general. I had no idea! (I've edited my previous post to reflect the restricted access). However, Greg has asked that we share the info. In essence, Greg is fighting increasing amounts of malware that is attacking the site. The PHP software...

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

Many of you may not be aware of this, but it looks like the site, including the Hangar, will go offline (possibly permanently) from next week sometime. Please make sure all your contributions are backed up. I assume the FTP server is held under the same contract, so we'll lose that too. I have backe...

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

Canoas (SBCO) and Porto Allegre (SBPA) have been added to the FTP. Ray has added his T27 (no traffic files as yet). The F-5 aircraft.cfg has been modified to match the airfield parking designations. The Changes and Progress document has been updated. SBCO Canoas (P3D only for now): https://i.imgur.c...

Re: exciting news!!!

So what you want is someone to make a new flight simulator that you can then play? I’m sorry if that seems unsympathetic, but you don’t appear to want help, you want someone to do it for you. Or have I missed something? MSFS 24 will be out shortly. DCS is available now with all the features you ment...

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

Thanks Ray. I'll do an update tomorrow - I now have Canoas (and next door Porto Allegre) to add to the completed airfield list.

Re: Carrier Airport

So I am starting to tinker with carrier scenery... and have been frustrated working with this issue... Granted re-reading threads here it would see that it is known... The AI is not following the "rules of the road" and only using one runway (the landing runway) and is taxiing out over th...

Re: AI for MSFS

AIG have been working on this for some time with their AI Manager/Traffic Controller product (freeware), but I think they ran up against the same problems John did with MSFS Sim Update 12 and they seem to have put it on the back burner. However, the product is still available and it works very well ...

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

There are a few changes in the FTP today. I've updated SBAN and SBCG (both P3D) and added separate folders for the more important (from our PoV) airfields.

Re: RAF Grob Tutor question

Some of the numbers I gave earlier are obviously wrong. 89 aircraft were apparently originally ordered and delivered to the RAF. The RAF site says 99 entered service, yet 122 are are recorded on this site (this probably includes the 5 operated on behalf of the Royal Navy). G-BYXR, G-BYUT and G-BYVN ...

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

Ah, OK. TBH I have no great preference, but I'd suggest 50-50. I have no idea how fast the repaint programme is going - I wasn't even aware of it! I've asked a good friend who's an aviation photographer to go and do some research for us over in Brazil, but I don't think he took me seriously... In ot...

Re: RAF Grob Tutor question

No, not really! But 10 minutes' research after reading your post (which piqued my interest as an ex-UAS QFI) led me to several sources of info, including one which recorded some of the registrations which went to Finland. I'd suggest you talk to Babcock, who own and run the fleet. They may well be a...

Thanks Ray. I'm busy with some MCX issues at the moment (trying to edit some over-enthusiastic lighting effects!) but I'll get to look at them later today.

Re: RAF Grob Tutor question

94 aircraft were delivered, 89 to the RAF and 5 to the Royal Navy. In 2018, the Elementary Flying Training task carried out by 3 FTS, RAF Cranwell, was taken over by the Grob 120 Prefect apart from the detached element (115(R) and 16(R) Sqns) at RAF Wittering. 28 of the UK fleet were sold to Finland...

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

To all contributors, there is now a Changes and Progress document in the Documentation folder in my FTP. It gives an overview of what's been done, what's being done, where you can find it, and who's doing it. I hope it's useful.

Re: Scenery and supporting AI for John's KC-390

Hi Ray. I'm struggling a bit more today!

That's fantastic. Yes, the T-27s would be great for the Air Force Academy. If you fancied doing the Caracals and H-60s... although if helos are not your thing, I'd entirely understand. I hate the bloody things.
