Re: RAF Bruggen OPEN BETA
I have all Orbx entries below everything except LM stock stuff. I've been through every Orbx folder and removed every reference to ETUR - yes, library updates can put duplicate entries in; I intercepted that! Bruggen is right at the top of all my scenery entries. Obviously, we've all come across the...

Re: A brand new MS Flight Simulator is coming...
Jon has put out the first public Alpha build of ADE. It's far from complete, and there may be many bugs, but it can be downloaded from a link in the discussion thread here: https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threa ... se.450668/

Re: RAF Bruggen OPEN BETA
Hi Manschy. More issues - my installation is not eliminating the stock airport. I'd show a screenshot, but Imgur is overwhelmed just now so I can't upload it! Initially it worked fine, but after a few days I began having problems. There may well have been updates to other software in the meantime. E...

Re: RAF Coningsby P3D
You'd have hated runway 36/18 at Lyneham, which had a significant bend in the centreline around halfway down the runway. In Real Life (TM), not in a sim.

Re: A brand new MS Flight Simulator is coming...
Thanks Greg. Danny confirmed that it can be construed as an SQL injection attack, but also that he'd never seen it produce this result. However, right at this minute he's having a fight with a new forum he's instigated that won't let you use the word 'grant' at the end of a sentence - it gives a sim...

Re: Thoughts on the next project
UKMil did the AEW3, if anyone really needs one for scenery purposes. I have one in my Finningley, though the Gaffer hasn't given permission for it to be released so it won't be in the final version.

Re: Thoughts on the next project
The RAF got rid of its Gazelles in or around 2008. There were only 14 of them. The Army still runs them, and they're projected to remain in service until 2025.

Hi Manschy. This screenshot shows where I put the tower. I don't claim it to be accurate, but for me it gives a better field of view than where you had it.

Re: Agusta A109's
Thanks John - it's looking great! After Christmas, I'll have a look at it again and see if I can get something to work at EBBE, particularly for FSX/P3D. The fixed-wing traffic I've seen in FS9 is from an old FMAI Tornado package, so is probably irrelevant to most users. There may be others though, ...

Re: RAF Bruggen OPEN BETA
Hi Manschy. A couple of comments. I installed it first using your directions to put it in an 'Addon Scenery' folder within P3D (as per FS9/FSX). It didn't work fully for some reason, much of the scenery objects didn't show in P3D. I removed it, put it in my usual scenery folder outside P3D and added...

Re: Lossie Expansion
It was traditionally the home of the AEW fleet, with both the Navy's AEW Gannets based there and then, after Lossie was transferred to the RAF, the AEW Shackletons of 8 Sqn (in which I flew many times - great fun!). The introduction of the Sentry was done at a time when the V Force had gone, and the...

Re: Decimomannu - IFTS (International Flight Training School)
They'd have got a bit upset if I'd used the same technique of surviving the trip! But we did have a bunk in the flight deck. It was pretty rare for us to stay on base, though it was becoming more common after the big budget cuts of the early '90s. Prior to that we used to stay at the Hotel Moderno n...

Re: Decimomannu - IFTS (International Flight Training School)
Interesting. Looks like they've knocked down all the area that used to be occupied by the RAF. I have a few happy memories from nightstops in Cagliari - and a few painful ones!

Re: Changes to Aircraft Routings in AI
Interesting stuff! Have you spoken to Don about whether he'll update AIFP to be compatible? He's now got it working for MSFS, and I know you're trying to get your stuff working with it as well. It's all very exciting!

Re: A brand new MS Flight Simulator is coming...
I've just asked a good mate of mine who used to own PPRuNe (which used to be on phpBB), and currently runs a number of forums on various topics, whether he's seen this before. It'll be interesting to get his perspective. Anyway, I got there in the end!

Re: A brand new MS Flight Simulator is coming...
Never use single quotation marks together with punctuation marks in a text input field on an website. It could be considered as an SQL injection attack. In this specific case, it was a single quotation mark followed by an exclamation mark followed by the capital letter F. [Wed Dec 16 21:01:16.25772...

Re: A brand new MS Flight Simulator is coming...
Let's try again: Scenery-wise MSFS is stunning, there's no doubt. I'm not sure I agree about large, complex sceneries having no performance impact. Anything locally stored will have a performance cost, but it seems to be less than sceneries in P3D. It is possible to get P3D looking nearly as good as...
