This is not a AI request but it is military so I hope this is a good/right place to request this. Could someone paint the KBT P-3 Orion in New Zealand Air Force colors? I found a retro paint but not one in the current scheme.

Re: A request for a flyable repaint
Should work just fine, it's not a native FSX update of the Orion, just the FS9 model with a few normal port over changes for it to work in FSX (prop textures, gauges, glass). The Kiwi textures should go right on. I have the regular FS9 KBT model in FSX with no issues.

But that paint has dds texture files. I thought those will not work right in FS9?
Re: A request for a flyable repaint
They don't but you can convert them using DXTBmp.

Re: A request for a flyable repaint
Convimx is a much safer bet I think. Dxtbmp cannot really be trusted with this kind of thing.
Re: A request for a flyable repaint
I haven't used it extensively but as they are from the same author I wouldn't have thought that there would be much if any difference, as they use the same lib. It is true that convimx will auto flip the dds image and can be used for batch conversions.

Re: A request for a flyable repaint
Good to know, I've done the conversion once with DxtBMP for a must have FSX paint on a FS9 model, flipped the images the wrong way the first time but got it sorted.

Re: A request for a flyable repaint
The autoflip is the main advantage, though yes, the interface makes batch conversions a lot simpler than dxtbmp does.It is true that convimx will auto flip the dds image and can be used for batch conversions.
Personally, when I want to view a .dds file I use dxtbmp, and when I want to convert anything I use convimx.
