RAF Wattisham......finally!
RAF Wattisham......finally!
After a loooong time in developement, I've finally finished RAF Wattisham, using Nick Black's and Mike Pearson's F-4v2 models, with flightplans, and thanks to John & Greg (VulcanDriver & Tirithon) for letting me use their afcad.

Re: RAF Wattisham......finally!
Looks great Daryl.
Now if only I'd realised you were working on this, I wouldn't have spent my pocket money on the SDB scenery.

Sorry Stew, if you'd have told me maybe I could have prevented you from opening your wallet, a predicament I know most Scotsmen loathe, even as much as Yorkshiremen.
Does that scenery not linger around the 60's? No HAS's, but I really could have done with some Bloodhounds, as I believe they were still around in 1990.....
BTW don't play with knives, you may cut yourself

Re: RAF Wattisham......finally!
The SDB scenery does have HAS sites as well as B/Hounds and a QRA shed.
If you look in the screenshot forum under my retro thread you'll see the Q Shed.

Yep, apologise for the lack of attention. I did a search for SDB Wattisham and only found the 60s version, complete with Lightnings......have you got a link for that, as I may have to just open my own wallet

Had to create a seperate AFD as the original parking is "imbedded" in a scenery bgl. Everytime I tried to alter it, half the scenery went into stealth mode.
If you do buy it, let me know and I'll send you the afd I did. Not perfect, but gets the HAS sites busy.

Re: RAF Wattisham......finally!
Well I got as far as unzipping and installing into a temp folder; thought I'd check out the two phantom paints first, one by Frank Safranek of 56 Sqn, and another from 29 Sqn by............me.
Don't know whether to be angry or glad that they chose one of mine. I have sent an email to them, to get an explanation as to why they used something of mine in a commercial product.

They do state in their doc that visitors from Coningsby, plus Herks visit the station. I wonder if Mr. Tomkiewicz knows if people are paying for his C-130, as well as whomever painted them for the ukmil-ai package (not to confused with UKMIL)?Firebird wrote:What is a 29 Sqn bird doing at WTM anyway? Re: RAF Wattisham......finally!
Thanks Daryl, I lived at Wattisham when the F-4's were there, They used to taxi real close. All that separated us then was a chicken wire fence LOL. Feeling the bed rumble at about 2am when a QRA was on and looking out of the window seein two pairs of blue afterburners soaring into the night.
