RAF Middleton St. George

Post by delbydoo »

I am proud to present the latest scenery package from the talented Brian Clarke........RAF Middleton St. George, which is now known as Durham Tees Valley Airport (EGNV).

There will also be VERY simple flightplans for 16 Hawker Hunter F6 aircraft - 8 painted in the Blue Diamonds scheme.

I'm sure I know one person who may be happy to see this........

Will be posted up later tonight

Only one? Surely there is more of us than that. Lightnings, Hunters. Lovely stuff. One day maybe even Javelins. Quality.

That's a welcome addition indeed to the 1957-1962 retro era and I love the 92Sqn Blue Diamonds scheme on the Hunter.

It's a real incentive to make the AI Javelin that co-existed at the airfield at that time I think. Just tied up with other work at the moment, with another project planned after that unfortunately.

Thanks for the comments John.

Here is the link for the scenery; MAIW library objects as per usual, plus a few downloads from flightsim.com but all in the readme.

Just a quick note on the Hunter paints: I have only done one paint each for the camo version and for the BD version, but there are 8 of each in the flightplans. If anyone wishes to improve on the flightplans, please feel free to do so and share.

I have "painted out" the drop tanks on the BD version using the alpha-mask method; also I have used the GA11 version as there is no F6 model, the only noticeable point about this is the fact that there are two shades of black on the nose.

Enjoy!

Awesome. I wasn't attempting any social pressure, but more like I was hoping that you would get around to it sometime in the future.

Also based at Middleton St George were 29 Sqn using BAC Lightnings.

Model by John Young. ACG BAC Lightning AI Pack 1 - F3

For the 29 Sqn textures use Dale Ashcroft's fs2004farlightningai.zip

Both files available on Flightsim.com
