I just find a link by SBAI himself, on a Russian Forum, for the model.

Here is the model : http://www.avsim.su/forum/index.php?app ... _id=492411

You probably must be registered on this forum to download it

It seems that this model version is a BETA version. But it's the only one we can find.

The final model in online.

There is 4 models variations. The take off and landing are vertical. It's a real multi LOD model.

You can download it at this website : http://sbai.kiev.ua/

Big thanks to SBAI Team for this AI Model

Hmmm.
OK so I have downloaded the model and the two sets of schemes on Avsimrus and the model names are not very helpful (01, 02, 03 and 04) and the schemes have model names of 27.

So I have two questions.
1. What exact versions do the 4 models represent?
2. What should the versions should the fltsim entries be for the released schemes?

Anybody got any clues?
Steve

I just used one model (model 01) I couldn't work out what difference the others were or made.
Any way I have it flying as an AI, it taxiied OK and great virtical take off, I like that, got it flying at 126-128 IAS (TAS 135) at 6000 ft. so far so good.

Came back to add:
Slow approach at 34 IAS, landed virtical then taxiied in OK, so overall a good model.

I recommend using the AI Aircraft Editor model viewer to have a look at the different models.
You can open all four models at the same time in different windows and compare.

The differences are mainly the pods on the fuselage sides and on the bottom.
There is also one version with skis.

I may not have been as clear as I could be. Apologies.
I did use AIAE to check the models and it was easy to spot the difference between them I just wondered if somebody knew the actual variant names, i.e. like you can find on wikipedia, and which ones those schemes should be applied to.

Hi Steve,
From my research this may help?
Model 01 is a Ka-27PL (Helix-A) ASW Helicopter (Early version with flat sided fuselage i.e. no bulges etc)
Yellow 10 RF-19182
Yellow 37
Yellow 42 RF-34177

Models 02, 03, and 04 are all Ka-27PS (Helix-D) SAR Helicopters (In various modification levels but all with the SAR hoist)
Red 22 = Model ?
Red 37 = Model 04
Red 54 = Model 04
Yellow 28 RF-34185 = Model 04
Yellow 32 RF-19865 = Model 04

World Air Forces 2016 says that the Russia Air Force as 7 in service and the Russia Navy as 82 in service + 2 Ka-28 and 3 Ka-29 versions.

World Air Forces 2016 = https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8iBvT ... ef=2&pli=1

Regards,
Steve
P.S. The Model 27 was from the original Beta version.

Does anyone here understand how to create the special Afcads to make these land and then park correctly? When I tried to make Afcads previously with Mi-8's, all would be fine apart from right at the end, when the heli would stop and shut down while still airborne above the pad.

P.S. Ka-32 repaints now appearing on Avsimrus..

I just installed this helicopter in tonight. Is there a lightmap for the paints? None of the paints have a lightmap and when I run FStexture checker it say that the file SBAI_KA-27_L.bmp is missing.

I am afraid that this is nothing to do with the afcads. This is to do with xml coding that is wrapped in the mdl. If you see JYs UH-72 it does exactly the same. Nobody has yet come up with a way to have hover taxying and have a normal shutdown on the ground.
It doesn't mean that it won't happen in the future but it won't fix models currently released. The amended xml would need to be recompiled with the mdl.

Yes, I know of the xml magic which has opened up possibilities lately, but SBAI previously used a different approach which made use of highly modified afcad files. There was a Russian language manual (came with the Mi-8?), but I never had any success with it. Sounds good if the Ka27 doesn't use that but instead uses xml like the UH-72.

I was aware of the fact that they modded afcads for their helos but I can't see how it is possible for afcads to make the effect that you are talking about. If it could then it would be a major breakthrough and everybody would know about it, and copy it, especially if there was a manual.

Now if you want to now what afcad tricks they are using you need to compare one of their afcads against one of yours.

What you could try is attaching the manual here and seeing if anybody can translate it for you. That might be a help.

What you could do is to try and recreate one of their afcads and post both here and somebody will probably be able to determine what they do and how it affects flight.

I seem to remember that there is a helo control program that runs outside of FS and those helos can do vertical take offs and landings, but the traffic has to put in that database and everybody has to by the payware proggie to be of use here.

I wish I could remember the name of it.
