No textures on vehicles?
....So I go in to set up a flight at Holloman...and it seems as though all of the GSE is there, but completely texture-less; So then I try Beale....same thing I have looked through all of my static object libraries including the MAIW one and MCDmil, and everything 'appears' ok....any advice?? I'm stumped.
felix,
Purely by chance I checked the Beale scenery first and neither the JGSE nor GGSE libs are required for that scenery, so if you have blank vehicles there its probably a problem with your mcdmil installation.
Maybe download that one again and re-install it.

I believe both of those sceneries use the Michael Carr library objects but do not actually have the library and its textures included with the scenery. Michael Carr has never given permission to include his library objects with a third party scenery so designers will place the objects with a scenery file and if you have the Michael Carr library already, they will show up, if you don't, you won't notice that anything is missing.
Now if you are seeing the raw objects, but no textures, that could mean that the textures are not in the correct location or that they are missing.
I have the Michael Carr library in its own folder in the FS9/Addon Scenery folder. That folder is named "MCDMil Scenery". In that folder is another set of folders called "scenery" and "texture". The actual library objects themselves are in that "scenery" folder and the textures for those objects are in that "texture" folder.
Check and see if that's how you have that particular folder named and set up.

Felix, if you download the update for Elmendorf, those C-17 folders have the correct textures for the vehicles in them.

I would like to be able to contact Michael Carr.
His MCDmil scenery is wonderful.
I managed to convert his static vehicle models into AI for FSX (for my own pleasure) and I would like him to know about this possibility for future FSX compatible sceneries. The AI really livens up his scenery.
Hope he reads this, unless he knows already.
