Vulcans new home

Post by Rotten Ralph »

Not sure if this is true or not, but I have been told that the Vulcan is now based at RAF Lynham, can anyone confirm this?

Well, Vulcans are not in service anymore, but there is at least one preserved in flying conditions... maybe it's the one you are talking about?

Its not based there but it is there for servicing at the moment to ready for the 2010 airshow season.

Is it just me that thinks that the Vulcan will probably survive longer than Lyneham itself?

Well there's also a nasty rumour that the vulcan's running out of money again. They'll probably decom at the same time if that turns out to be true

They always seem to get money at the last minute to keep it flying, but it is costing so much, who knows how long it will last?
