Coming soon...
While enlisted in the USMC as an aircraft engine mechanic, I was fortunate enough to build and test J-79s for the Corps last RF-4B squadron; VMFP-3. Before being decomissioned in September 1990, P-3 painted two of their aircraft in special liveries; one black the other with a multi colored tail. The rest of the squadron, from what I remember, was a hodge-podge of assorted liveries, from glossy gray, white, and black, to the dull gull and ghost grays. I'm currently researching the regs from the years 1989 (when I arrived at El Toro) through 1990 and their retirement.
Here's the ENTIRE RF-4B inventory, if anyone is interested
