File Description:
FS2004 scenery for Andersen AFB on the island of Guam. Andersen AFB started life as one of many airfields constructed in 1944 for the final aerial assault on the Japanese islands. Originally designed as a long range bomber base, Andersen has grown in scale to keep pace with the newest U.S. Air Force ships. Andersen remained busy during the Korean and Vietnamese conflicts hosting the 19th Bomb Wing as well as various SAC units for combat, refueling, and logistical/material support. The base is hosted by the 36th Wing and provides support services for all visiting and transient aircraft from numerous allied nations. This scenery contains all-new custom objects for Andersen AFB as well as photo-realistic ground cover for the airfield.

I've problme with unzipping the file. Winzip say me that the file is corrupted. And only some compressed files are unzip.
I tried to re download the file 3-4 ties, and always the same.

Re: Andersen AFB PGUA Guam on Avsim
I've just downloaded and installed it. No problem during unzipping and installing but when I go to PGUA I've a CTD. I've deactivated the scenery and add an old PGUA AFCAD and all goes well. Is there something corrupted?

First of all I would like to say "Thank You!" to John Stinstrom for his work!TheFoufure wrote:I've problme with unzipping the file. Winzip say me that the file is corrupted. And only some compressed files are unzip.

But I also have the same problem as "TheFoufure" has mentioned before....
Unzipping/unpacking does not work which has hardly ever happened before while the file was dowloaded completely from Avsim.
Thanks in advance for any info!

Re: Andersen AFB PGUA Guam on Avsim
I've found that the following files cause me the CTD:
Guam_Photo_VTPL.BGL
Guam_Photo_VTPP.BGL
without them all is OK. Cheers, Maurizio

Re: Andersen AFB PGUA Guam on Avsim
I'm unable to unpack this zip file either. Getting 'Error 0x800004005' message against most of the contents. Tried it in both Windows 7 and Windows Vista operating systems so suggests that something is definitely corrupted.

Alan

Re: Andersen AFB PGUA Guam on Avsim
Well four people have it working so I doubt its corrupt. They may have extracted it from a shorter character directory. Try extracting it straight off your desktop into a new folder on your desktop.

Can't unzip it either, not even from C:\temp
.. and so on
Code: Select all
! C:\temp\pgua_js.zip: Unknown method in Andersen AFB\Andersen AFB Readme.doc
! C:\temp\pgua_js.zip: Unknown method in Andersen AFB\Andersen AFB Readme.doc

FWIW Downloaded fine @ 2.366KB. I have been able to open the zip and view all of the files . . . EXCEPT . . . neither of the "readme" files can be viewed or extracted. Message comes up - "Windows cannot complete the extraction. The destination file could not be created."

Re: Andersen AFB PGUA Guam on Avsim
Just downloaded.
Initially could not read either the readme.doc or readme.txt and the afd file (PGUA_ADE9_JS.BGL)
would not copy to desktop. I then extracted to c:\temp using winzip and all seems to be OK
will load onto my system this evening when I get home from work !!

Re: Andersen AFB PGUA Guam on Avsim
For me both Windows and Winrar fail saying that the compression method is unknown.
I think that he will be uploading a new version fairly soon.

Re: Andersen AFB PGUA Guam on Avsim
If you use the last revision of Winzip ( v.17.0) all go well. It think that uses a new compression algorithm
