May 2013 Hot Shots competition

Post by campbeme »

This months theme will be AI models from Mike Pearson.

Mike has put an astonishing amount of hours into our hobby from as long as I can remember, and produced a massive amount of models and paints over the years as well as contributing to MAIW projects so Im hoping to see another huge entry this month.

The rules are the shots must only contain AI aircraft from Mike Pearson in view.

As usual the winning shot will be posted at the end of the month in our front page rotator and also take the cover photo for our Facebook page.

Good luck everyone.

I loved those RAAF Mirages since Mark posted this picture in Mike's thread. It took some experiments to make it work like I wanted it to be, but I am getting close.

We still have that single seater orange Ardu in the workshop hanger at RAAF Amberely, it's in shocking condition but still rolls on its wheels. :P
Mike did a great job on these models, top points to him.

That first piccy of Martin's reminds of an episode of Dogfights with the Israeli Mirage chasing a Jordanian Hunter through a valley.

Make sure that your surrounding is not too bright, these pictures are taken during dusk. This time some Swiss action above the Matterhorn - I hope Willy is around to see them :smt001

I just found out about this thread today (slow kid on the block as usual, lol). I was completely blown away, and don't really know how to respond to this honor. I have been into repainting and modeling for about fourteen years now, and I have always been blessed, both by the ability and by the support of family, colleagues, fans, and friends. These models have the influence of Nick Black, Jake Burrus, and Mike MacIntyre emanating from them; not to mention countless others who have helped me over the years; so I simply cannot take credit for all of this. It was quite a wonderful thing, to see how my models get manipulated to create these numerous incredible screenshots. In all fairness, I can't cast a vote, since I am already compromised and bias, lol, but congrats to all entries.

I am contributing to this thread as well, with some screenshot-grade pictures of some new material. One model you have seen already, but one is brand-new, unveiled today. DO NOT VOTE FOR THESE PICTURES..... This is not a request, but more like a command, because I don't want to detract from the other incredible work shown here.

I intend to use FS9 until the wheels fall off, so don't expect me to drop out of the hobby anytime soon. Enjoy the show, as usual. First out are the Mirage IVA and IVK.....

Apparently, you all know how to upload pictures better than I can. I can't upload anything bigger than I have here, and everybody else seems to be able to upload huge images. Again, I am the slow kid on the block. Anybody who can tell me how to do this like the rest of the normal world gets a free preview of the next aircraft, lol........

When you see large screenshots like this people are not actually uploading images to the forum but linking them to external image databases. There are several available like "Photobucket" and "Imageshack". When you upload your image to one of these sites you then have options to link to forums and thus the images you see here. Try it I think you will like it. Most give you at least 100 image storage for free. If you're a screenshot nut however that could be used up fast. Good luck.

The forum limit is also 1000 pixels wide for any linked images. Keep that in mind.

I got it, the images I tried to upload are all 1000x600 dimensionally, but the more intense the graphic in the photo, the larger the file size (size limit of 256kb). I don't do any external photo stuff, more crap I have to learn, lol. Thanks for the replies, though.
