4(R) Sqn Hawk T2

Post by delbydoo »

OK - who wants? And am I stepping on any toes? I couldn't wait any more as 4 Sqn is getting up to strength and 19 (R.I.P.) is no longer with us.

Slightly longer to wait - just noticed that I've left off the fin flashes on the normal schemes!

Please note that I have changed the slime lights to make them a bit thinner than they were on the original. This means a new lightmap which obviously you will need to keep in the individual texture folders. Otherwise you will bugger up the rest of your Hawks if you put it in the global texture folder.

Very nice and thank you very much!! And thanks for the recent retro stuff too, you're spoiling us!! Couple of questions. What programme do you use to generate your preview profiles - I have ModelConverterX which has a few limitations( Blanks and locks displayed, no transparency for canopies etc), the reason I ask is I have a little Hawk based project which is nearly complete and I want to show in a similar way. I'll send a couple of preview skins your way if you like!! Secondly, is there a reason for using DXT1 textures on this pack? Thanks agin!!!

Thanks for your kind words Dinga, much appreciated.
I use the demo version of FSRepaint from Abacus with a bit of a tweek for Nvidia inspector to get rid of the jaggies. Works quite well, and as I use Paint Shop Pro 7 I don't need the simpler interface of FSRepaint - I use it purely for these sort of shots and when I've installed a new package or aircraft.

I didn't realise that I had saved as DXT1 - I used a texture manipulator to batch convert the raw 24-bit files, and obviously missed that one. I shall redo and repost. Thanks for letting me know.

Ah, thanks for that - I'll have a look. I use PSP 7 too! With a little bit of Photoshop elements for the paintkit layers - standby for some more Hawks soon!!

Daryl,

Just looking at these paints did you include the alpha channel to make them shiny mate? It doesn't look like it unless its just your screenies.

Sorry mate. Just wanted to be sure that you knew that this model had the ability to have a shiny paint using the alpha channel?
