Meanwhile, at Belaya...

Before you ask, the white smoke is condensation. METAR reported a temperature of M28

Been sidelined with a bad cold today, so I took the time to play around with a less used AI model I had lying around. So without further ado, I give you the Air Group of the 6952nd Guards Air Base at Belaya. Warfare.be lists 36 Tu-22M's, 2 An-12's, and 3 An-30's (although one of them appears to be an An-26). Most of the bort codes could be obtained from russianplanes.net, although I could only pick up 22 Tu-22M codes, so they were topped off with some random ones (I love random.org).

For the repaints, I used the standard Russian Air Force paint that came with the base Tu-22M model (available here: http://www.avsimrus.com/f/fs2004-ai-tra ... 20358.html ), the An-12 paints by Mike Pearson can be found in skj_an12_ruaf_part_2.zip & skj_an12_ruaf_part_3.zip at AVSIM, and for the An-26 paint I used 56 Blue from Nikolai Samsonovs package cis_an26_texturepack2_269023.zip as a stand-in. I couldn't find any An-30 paints, so I just cleaned up the paintkit of any excess and use that for the time being.

The scenery for Belaya is by scottr5213 & regan123 and can be found here: http://www.militaryaiworks.com/newforum ... 420#p99103

The zip includes flightplans, waypoint files (entirely random locations, although mainly isolated away from major cities on Google Earth), & VCPMods if you're the type who listen in on ATC.

And finally, if you haven't already, make sure your Tu-22M model has had its parking radius reduced.

Oh, and before you ask, 6952nd Guards Air Base is actually Ukrainka, but it appears that the 6953rd Guards Air Base (which Belaya was renamed to in 2009) has been renamed again and placed under it. A detachment, if you will. I think.

Cool thanks. I can't wait to start the other side of the globe, as soon as the Tu-95 and Tu-160 come out for ai (hopefully with some flightplans). I am really looking forward to seeing the bear ...... through the window of my F-15 as I escort him into safer airspace. :D

If your scenery is improving on the default scenery, it will never suck. Keep going.

If you still have the source files for it, any chance you could update it with comms frequencies?

Ground comms 124.000 and Tower 128.500 - at least I think those are the frequencies (my cyrillic is non-existing  )

One of the libraries I'm haven't added to ADE yet. I guess it's a tree library of sorts?

I could understand it if there were several but there is only one in the scenery. I have checked that location and there is nothing there which seems to suggest that I don't have it on my system, at least that not that the scenery can see.

I think that's one of the issues with the 'pick-and-mix' approach to object library usage, that's been alluded to every now and then.

Yep, thanks for that. I did add a couple of missing ones that I had not got installed plus the tipovuha lib.bgl mentioned earlier in the thread.
There is still one object missing.

Could I trouble you to either export your 'Scenery Objects' list from your UIIB, in ADE, and either send me the CSV file or tell me what objects lies in line 426 between an MTtrees7.bgl 019 and an MTtrees3.bgl 003.

Also if you could check

It's probably not a major deal it is just bugging me a bit.

*EDIT*
In fact, to make things easier, could you check the 'Libraries Used' option as it will list each lib you used and tell me which lib is also on the list apart from:-
add_SeevKahn_Trees.BGL
MAIW_ABO.BGL
maiw_aircraft_shelter_library.bgl
MAIW_RAF_control_towers_library.bgl
MAIW_RAF_Domestic_Buildings_Library.bgl
MAIW_RAF_Hangers_Library.BGL
MAIW_RAF_Operational_Buildings_Library.BGL
MTtrees3.bgl
MTtrees7.bgl
RampLight_Library.bgl
sig_hgrcpnr_ss_lib.bgl
tipovuha_lib.bgl

I'm having a major elevation problem with this scenery. The Backfire are sitting about 3-4 ft above ground level, as are the taxiways et.

I know it's probably an other scenery/mesh causing the problem, but there's no way I can find out what it is.
I've tried deleting various sceneries to no avail.

I'm sure I saw a post somewhere about drilling down at a position to find out what sceneries are valid at that position, but I've had no joy in finding out what it is.

Can anyone please help me out?

Many thanks

Jim

Hi

Floating AI is caused by the first loaded or default airport information that is loaded as the sim boots up or loads.

If the new airport has a higher or lower altitude, the AI will still be on the same tracks as it were. Being higher or lower than the ground.

Use AFCAD to find the airports with the same designator as the airport in question. Look at the names of the files, top of screen, and then search for the name.
Afcad will give you a layer where it is found, but you will have to look in the scenery.CFG file with note pad to see it. Sometimes that is not accurate either.

Solution. Take the AF2, ADE or AFX file that comes with you installed scenery. Copy that file. Place the copy in the FS9\Scenery\World\Scenery folder with the traffic files.
(Info from Gary Summons, UK2000).

Failing that the Altitude of the Afcad and the flatten file are not the same.

Hope this provides a satisfactory result.

Also try JABBgl a handy utility that searches the FS9 default scenery for the airport you are having trouble with and then allows you to change the altitude to match the AFCAD. I use it all the time.

Put it into the FS9\Scenery\World\Scenery folder and all OK.

Many thanks for the help
