JASDF Bases
Re: JASDF Bases
Damn, I have people coming around today. I wonder if I can put them off to put these in the sim.

Re: JASDF Bases
OK...
Converted the IRIS-T from my Gripens to an AMM-5.
Slightly longer and different fins.
Also found out the AAM-3 is longer than the AIM-9L that I based them on, so I stretched it, and they have slightly smaller, but longer fins.
So I fixed that also.
Working on the textures, with the AAM-4 to come....

Re: JASDF Bases
Started back on page 1 looking for a contact for the F-2 repaints. Sent a PM and nothing for the last 3 weeks, so does anyone have Graham's long lost F-2 repaints for the HTAI F-16 to share?

Thanks gents for the repaints, always thought the blue scheme was pretty cool looking on the F-2s. Now my JASDF AI is back on track.

Re: JASDF Bases
Little known factoid about the Graham King F-2 repaints: Even though the aircraft.cfg file for them has the Clean model for each entry, he did completely repaint all the pylons and external stores, so you can have fully armed F-2s in the sim by simply changing the model call.
The models that most closely replicate JASDF loads would be Normal and Fuel. Air is a bit anachronistic since the F-2 doesn't carry AMRAAM.

Re: JASDF Bases
Good call, I try to change up the models to replicate the real world. Only demo jets and functional checkflights would be clean. Always see Vipers with at least a single tank, but more commonly "2 bag" in the US.

Re: JASDF Bases
You knew it had to happen. Replacement paints for the JASDF UH-60Js for the new JYAI model. Use the US Army A model for these.
http://www.mediafire.com/download/m6xky ... _UH60J.zip
These are named to work with the Flight Plans from the original set without changing anything. Just delete the JFAI paints after putting these in and they will appear in the sim.

Re: JASDF Bases
I have a question. Since I did not install everything in this thread yet, what page (or pages) do I find the flightplans for these new Blackhawk paints? Or to make it easier to find, what units are included with these paints?
PS: Very nice paints

Re: JASDF Bases
If you look at the fltsim entries on the new paints you will see that click has added the ICAO code for where they are based so you should be able to find the plans you want.

Thanks I found them. It was JASDF SAR.zip
Re: JASDF Bases
I haven't forgotten the D and DJ updates.
Been crazy at work the last few weeks and didn't want to even look at a PC until last night!
I am assuming you have a paint program that supports layers and you know how to set one to 'multiply' and then adjust the opacity?
I may have a single layer you can add to your current paints that will make them more realistic.
You would need to..
Open the current aircraft texture
Add a layer
Copy my new layer into the layer you just created
Set the layer to multiply
Adjust the opacity to between 50-70%
Save it back as a bitmap (it will flatten both layers to a single one)
Drag the newly saved bitmap into image tool and convert to 32-bit with mip maps.

Re: JASDF Bases
For anyone still looking, the original download that contains the Flight Plans is on page 10. This contains all 39 JASDF UH-60J belonging to Koku Kyunandan.Joseph29 wrote:What page (or pages) do I find the flightplans for these new Blackhawk paints? No worries Weescotty. Real life always wins over hobbies, and there are plenty of irons in the fire to keep projects flowing. I'm running Photoshop, so playing with layers isn't a problem at all. I have been tinkering a bit more with your F-15J in between other projects though:Weescotty wrote:I haven't forgotten the D and DJ updates.

To get them to show up won't you have to change the MODEL & SIM in the Aircraft.cfg, and add the
model.Blackhawk_A
and the JYAI_Black_Hawk_AI_ONLY.air files?
