Be attention. FS2004 will propose only static landable Ships, but FSX propose moving landable ships (carriers etc)

I use FS2004.

Where can I get moving military ships for FS2004? I don`t need landable ships.

Any ship can be made AI if you add an AI ship fde to it. The tricky part is the flightplans to make it move. They are basically very, very long taxy journeys.

And set the taxiways to the narrowest possible with Texture that blends in with the sea. otherwise you'll get some strange lines in the sea.

I used to be able to hand craft sea routes using a zero width and invisible Texture setting in the decoded afcad then recompile them into a bgl.

If you use the "apron" (green) lines, they dont show...
(in FS9 at least?)

Here a very basic ADE. Very important is to set the radius of parking spot at least to 600 ft.

Also "Area" and "Parking Type" should be declared as "Dock". Be aware that FS9 AI ships work within a radius of about 50 miles only. So no Atlantic crossings or something like that.

Almost all drivable ships can be scheduled as AI, as long as you're using a particular air and an aircraft.cfg file.

I might try and plan some moving LCACs.
It looks like I will have to figure out the beach landing sooner or later. Maybe use a static Amphibious Assault Ship with the parking spot inside the well deck and have the taxiway route up to shore somewhere and return to the ship.

hello
it's possible to adapt ships from CFS2 to FS2004 but you must to create a aircraft.file and a air.file.
After 3 years I'm able to make this but I don't have autorisation from the creators of the models for upload my results.
You can find a multitude of models at http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/l ... p?catid=42
but you must be enregistered for download

That's the CFS2 USS Coral Sea placed in FS9 as static AI at Norfolk naval base. Of course it could be programed to move, but without static objects on deck.

I have Ohio and Los Angeles class subs that I made a while ago for use as AI. Pretty easy to give them a ship AI setup.

I can upload them if there's interest.
