Flight Plan Problems
Flight Plan Problems
Hi, I am trying to implement Flt Plans for the Javelin Deployment to Butterworth in the 1960's. I am at the moment just going from Akrotiri (LCRA) to Butterworth (WMKB) using the original route used. First stop Turkey (LTCC) my problem is that that part of the flight is 60mins, but the Flt Plan keeps being adjusted to 7hrs 25mins, I have no idea why. Not had problems with Flt plans before, the only difference being that I have used return Flights as part of the those packages. So can anyone offer advise please?
Re: Flight Plan Problems
Are you using TTools or AIFP to compile the plans? What cruise speed is set in aircraft.txt?
Re: Flight Plan Problems
It might be useful if you could attach the aircraft and the flightplan txt files here so that we can see if there are any obvious errors.

Re: Flight Plan Problems
I make the Flt Plans Manually for myself. I checked with AIFP which identified that the first leg put all the other legs out of kilter.

Re: Flight Plan Problems
I'm no rocket scientist, but as far as I can work out your initial departure point is Butterworth, not Akrotiri.
LCRA doesn't feature in the flightplan.

Re: Flight Plan Problems
The first leg is WMKB to LTCC which doesn't surprise me that it is 7.5 hrs the plans don't touch Akrotiri in any way. You have got them as a one way daily trip.
What I would suggest is make the plans weekly and go out early in the week and return later in the week on a reverse route.
If you want the journey to start at LCRA then LCRA has to be the last icao in the line. The first journey goes from the last icao in the line to the first icao, so plan 1 currently leaves Butterworth at 04:00z and lands at LTCC at 11:25z.
I hope this makes sense and helps.

Re: Flight Plan Problems
Many thanks for responses, have made changes as suggested all AOK now. Another lesson learnt[emoji106]

Re: Flight Plan Problems
Me again, question, how do I ensure that the a/c get to WMKB (Butterworth) as it looks as though that by placing LCRA at the end of the Flt Plan the a/c are returning to Akrotiri?
Any assistance would be most appreciated.
I have been changing down times in the FP due to errors on my part.

Re: Flight Plan Problems
As Firebird put it.
If you want the aircraft to start and return to that airport, then the ICAO code for that airport must be last in the row.
So if you want to have WMKB as the base then it must be the last entry in the line.
The flightplan will repeat every 24 hours or every week depending on your setting:
AC#15,XL161,1%,24Hr,IFR,08:00:25,15:51:20,200,F,0001.
The simulation runs as a closed loop.
To have the aircraft operate out of, and back to WMKB as if deployed, then you will have to remove this flightplan and create a new one.
I trust this will put you on the right track.

Re: Flight Plan Problems
Thanks John, I am trying to recreate the original Javelin Deployment to Butterworth, starting from Akrotiri, so it is one way only. Do not know if this possible with FS9 Flt Plans. I am OK with return Flights.
Re: Flight Plan Problems
Unfortunately the flightplan simulation is repetitive.
You would see the same flights at the same time as you specified until you remove your Traffic_???.bgl from the simulation.
The flightplans for AI were created to enhance the scenery in the simulation with commercial air traffic, which is repetitive. There is no intelligence in the AI. They only do what you tell them to do until you take the instruction away.
You could have the aircraft in a week cycle. A few days at Akrotiri before the trip and a day or so at the end of the flightplans in Butterworth. The whole thing will start again on Sunday (day 0 in FS9).
There is no other way. To keep the aircraft at Butterworth, you will have to create new flightplans to depict this. Once again it will repeat after the time period you insert in the flightplan generator. A week or a number of hours.

Re: Flight Plan Problems
There is an other problem in your FlightPlans. Your plane should leave LTCC the same day before it arrives:
AC#1,XH794,1%,24Hr,IFR,04:00:28,11:25:33,200,F,0001,LTCC,05:20:27,06:37:37,200,F,0009,OIII
Either you keep it like that and change to weekly flight
AC#1,XH794,1%,WEEK,IFR,1/04:00:28,1/11:25:33,200,F,0001,LTCC,1/05:20:27,2/06:37:37,200,F,0009,OIII
or departure should be set later resp. after 11:25:33.

Re: Flight Plan Problems
Thanks Bernard, I have totally revamped the plans following earlier info. Brian
