Re: JASDF Bases
As you can probably guess from my signature I'd love to see JMSDF Hachinohe, don't know how I managed to miss it.clickclickdoh wrote:Emphasis should be on the many others part. In one way or another almost every member of the community has contributed directly or indirectly through models, paints, flight plans, VCP files, the programs we use to build scenery and flightplans, creativity, problem solving, education and support.MIKE JG wrote:So nice to see Japan being so extensively covered. Great job Brent and John and Ray and Kevin and many others!
When I started these projects I knew about enough to swap a airplane in a flight plan or change a parking assignment. Everything beyond that I have learned from people here in the MAIW community. It has been an honor and a pleasure working with and alongside so many great people.
So, now... where do we want to go now?
The Tsuiki "update" I promised is almost done and should be released in a day or two. I put update in quotes because only about 1% of the original scenery survived the update, the rest being recreated new.
After Tsuiki I have three different projects that I am considering:
1) Tokushima: A dual use airport on the island of Shikoku, home to JMSDF TC-90 training.
2) JGSDF Metabaru: An army aviation airfield located on the southern island of Kyushu, near Fukuoka.
3) JMSDF Hachinohe: A P-3 base located near Misawa.
Of course, there is also the elephant in the room that I have had people ask about, Naha. I want to do a version of Naha, but I think that it's unique terminals deserve better than I can do with stock object libraries. If a modeler wants to take on making Naha terminal buildings, I would certainly take the airport on.
What would you guys like to see?
Jim

Brent, can you send me a photo or two of the Naha terminal buildings you are after please? Just want to see what's involved.

Re: JASDF Bases
Hi All,
I use a Naha scenery that was made for FS2002 by Kazuhiro Miyazaki but being GMAX works fine in FS2004.
I downloaded the zip in December 2008 from Avsim but it is no longer available so I think it disappered during the hack. I tried the authors website but the link was dead. I still have the original zip file and can post it if wanted.
Find some pics from the original zip and I will post two from today Naha-1 and 2.
Regards,
Steve.

Hi all. I downloaded it from www.FlightSim.com. The file is: naha.zip http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/fslib.php ... d=44557221

Re: JASDF Bases
I can make the terminal and jetways Brent if you are going to build the airport from scratch. However it will need to be number 3 in the queue. I'm just finishing off the HMS Ark Royal Task Force V2 package that includes a new type-23 frigate and then it's the Beech 350 family and specials.
We also need to get Iwakuni out as soon as the libraries are available in the Download centre.

Re: JASDF Bases
I have added a three pack of retro T-4s to the download hangar containing:
46-5714 wearing the 50th Anniversary of Shireibu Hikotai scheme from 2007 while stationed at Iruma
16-5666 wearing the 50th Anniversary of Tsuiki Air Base scheme while flying with 6 Hikotai in 1992
06-5634 wearing the 2012 Hyakuri Air Festival special scheme while flying with 302 Hikotai
Stand alone flight plans have been included to put these jets at their home bases for when they were flying with these paints.

Thank you very much for making it for us. Thankfully, there's plenty of source material for me to keep cranking these out between my bigger projects.
