Re: A-10 Thunderbolt II
Thanks Andy. It was never my intention to replace all the existing FS9 A-10s and also make the packages compatible with FSX and P3Dv4. Some of the scenery would probably not allow that - Osan has problems in P3Dv4 for example. Once I have the paint kit out however, other people here might want to take on some of the work. Are you prepared to contribute anything yourself?

I thought you wanted Japanese sceneries Andy? Can't do it all I'm afraid.
Re: A-10 Thunderbolt II
Andy, no modeller can afford to spend the time to do all the paints possible. If they did they would choose to do models with production runs of about 12 aircraft.
They release a few paints to cover the models they release and then rely on people that can paint to fill in what is missing. This is why they release a paintkit.
Either you have to wait for somebody to do them or you can fill in the gap yourself and share your work with others that would love the updates. It is one of those opportunities for those that would like to contribute to the community that haven't done so yet.

Re: A-10 Thunderbolt II
A few comments on these:
Fort Smith Municipal Airport Alabama ANG: 184th FS Arkansas ANG converted to the 184th AS and now flies the MQ-9
Barksdale AFB AFRC: 47th FS was stood down, then reactivated at Davis Monthan. They are already included in the Davis Monthan V3 package
Eglin AFB: 40th FLTS has 1 A-10 assigned, 79-0177. I have a good copy of the crew door if this aircraft is wanted
Whiteman AFB : The 303rd hasn't been officially announced, but I thought I kind of gave it away by including two screenshots of their aircraft already painted on the JYAI model....

Re: A-10 Thunderbolt II
I can put all the A-10's from the Davis Monthan package into 1 A-10 folder right?

Re: A-10 Thunderbolt II
The Davis Monthan A-10s all share the same models and don't have any customization in the aircraft.cfg file, so they should play nice if you combine them into one folder.

Re: A-10 Thunderbolt II
Missing FSX texture: 47th FS, 79-0197.
How do I add the gun sound to the soundai folder? Just kidding, would be cool to hear but for now I'll just make "brrrrrrrrrrt" sounds on my own! Beautiful (ugly) model and package team!

Re: A-10 Thunderbolt II
Chris, that missing texture is on me. Looks like I didn't include it in the last set of FSX textures I sent to John. Here is the missing texture. If one of the team could stick it in the download that would be awesome.

Re: A-10 Thunderbolt II
I have one more question about the P3D version of this A-10 package. Was the C-130's painted on the updated FSX/P3D specific model made by AIG?

Re: A-10 Thunderbolt II
The C-130s are on the original HTAI model with .bmp textures. To put them on the AIG update model you would need to swap the models and convert the textures to .dds
I'm not even sure if we have permission to distribute the AIG updated model.

Re: A-10 Thunderbolt II
MIght I simply state that having aircraft and scenery that are compatible with P3Dv4 is very much appreciated. I look forward to more packages ASARP.
