ConcordeBOAF,
We have to ask some basic questions here purely to judge your level of expertise. There is nothing wrong with having no expertise at all, we all started there.
Also, it has been mentioned before but I shall mention it again, please do not answer with one or few word answers - unless the question is designed that way. Please be exact in your answers. Firstly, is shows exactly how much you understand and secondly it is far less confusing for the very people who are trying to help you. If you read most of the replies to your responses in a great number it is because you are confusing the very people trying to answer your questions - for the reasons stated just now.
Also if you ask for help and somebody asks you a question/questions then please respond. It is not helpful if you ignore it/them and then go and post in another thread more questions.
If it continues then you run the risk of people deciding not to bother trying to help you and I can't yet see a way that this is going to help.
Now some simple questions.
1. Firstly, please confirm that you have successfully updated FSX to SP2 (one word answer).
2. Secondly, IF the answer to number 1 is YES, please confirm that you know have successfully installed the Woodbridge/Bentwaters package and have the scenery and AI working. (one word answer)
3. Have you ever created or modified an afcad and have it working correctly?
4. IF the answer to number 3 is YES please describe what you have modified.
5. Have you ever successfully created a flightplan so that at least 1 new AI aircraft has shown up in FSX?
6. Are you comfortable using a paint program that uses layers, if so which program are you going to be using?
7. Have you manged to load a layered paint kit into your chosen paint program, made changes, and saved the result to a format that can be used in FSX?
8. Have you successfully added an entry to an aircraft.cfg file so that a new paint scheme is available for use and shows up successfully in FSX?
All simple questions. It will help us to help you if you answer them. If you don't answer them - we can't help you.

Re: FSX Battle of Britain
Mark, the texture in your screen shot is the one that's been in my Spitfire pack for the past 8 years. I'd like to have seen the repaint (G-RIFT) from BOAF, but that wasn't in his zip. Just out of curiosity, does G-RIFT actually exist? I can't find it in the CAA database and I can't find a photo of a Spitfire wearing it.
BOAF also needs to be aware that the name you have used in your aircraft.cfg file entry actually matches the name he has used, or his traffic file is not going to work.

Thank you for answering the questions. it will help people to tailor any responses to questions that you have. Most useful to aid beginners.
Now for the specific Russian Spit question that you are asking about. The texture itself seems to be named correctly.
The folder name is not truly relevant EXCEPT that this folder name MUST be included in an entry in the aircraft.cfg, so have you added a complete fltsim entry in the aircraft.cfg WITH a unique name and WITH the line 'texture=T2 - Copy'?

Re: FSX Battle of Britain
It looks from your pic as if it is named 'texture.T2 G-RIFT' so your entry would have to be 'texture=T2 G-RIFT' is this the case?
If so can you post only the fltsim entry for that particular texture for us.

Re: FSX Battle of Britain
OK so when you say that it doesn't appear, we are talking about as an AI aircraft - yes?
So do any of your traffic files contain an entry for 'Spitfire MkT2 AI Red star' if so can you show us your AIFP panel with that traffic file loaded.

Re: FSX Battle of Britain
I see two files with the same name, probably one bmp and one dds. Did you remove the bmp file? The sim always looks for bmp first and only if it can't find one for dds.

If the red star doesn't appear, does the rest of the main texture, ie the camouflage with the RAF roundels and do the prop and canopy textures appear?
