"Something went wrong while updating Global Libraries"
"Something went wrong while updating Global Libraries"
I get this message when trying to update the Global Libraries. The red circle indicates 5 updates. It goes and updates to 3.5 pretty quick. Then it downloads and unpacks 3.6, and after 99%, I get this message. It says to try again or contact the forums. I've tried several times. Any help is appreciated!
Re: "Something went wrong while updating Global Libraries"
I've attached the zip file of the .txt errors file in the appdata/local logs folder. Looks like some kind of exception error accessing a folder?

Re: "Something went wrong while updating Global Libraries"
Hi!
Many thanks for your report. There's an issue indeed with the zip file for update 3.6. I'll let you know it's fixed.

Re: "Something went wrong while updating Global Libraries"
A fix for this issue was pushed to our server. You should now be able to continue the update.
Re: "Something went wrong while updating Global Libraries"
That worked! Thanks for your hard work Greg!
Re: "Something went wrong while updating Global Libraries"
Glad I could help.
I wish I had time for more region updates but they'll have to wait until life settles down again.

Re: "Something went wrong while updating Global Libraries"
Hi Greg,
Just experiencing the exact same issue. After trying it a few times it keeps saying the error : "Something went wrong while updating MAIW Global Libraries. Please try again or contact us on our forums"
And I keep getting this error with all the regions.
Can you help me out?

Re: "Something went wrong while updating Global Libraries"
Hi Guy,
Can you confirm you're on Matrix version 1.7.1? You can find it in the bottom left corner of the app.
If not, you should normally get a popup to update but you can also get the latest version from our Downloads section here and then install it on top of your current installation.
If you are in 1.7.1, then could you please go to %localappdata%\Military_AI_Works in explorer? There should be a folder in there starting with Matrix.exe containing a logs folder. Zip up the logs folder and attach it here.

Re: "Something went wrong while updating Global Libraries"
Hi José.
Thanks for contacting us. It looks like our CDN is throwing an access error for your download request but I'll need to dig a bit deeper to learn why.
I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Re: "Something went wrong while updating Global Libraries"
Whilst waiting for the great architect I will have a guess.
You have "Access to the path 'C:\Program Files\Military AI Works' is denied."
Anything under "C:\Program Files" is protected and unless you switch off your UAC you will very often find issues updating files there.
I will try moving "Military AI Works" to somewhere else such as the root of your C: drive, e.g. "C:\Military AI Works".

Re: "Something went wrong while updating Global Libraries"
Indeed, unless you're running Matrix with administrator rights or have UAC turned off in Windows, don't install your traffic in the Program Files folder. Go to the settings tab and change the folder. C:\ should work (or any other drive).
Re: "Something went wrong while updating Global Libraries"
Yes Greg! I try and I get the same answer " Something went..."
Many thanks for your interest and have a nice new year 2021.
Waiting for your news and solutions.

Re: "Something went wrong while updating Global Libraries"
Please try again, José. It will most probably still throw the same error but I enabled some extra logging on our CDN to see why you're the only one getting 403 responses.

I have been trying again and no works, sorry!
I am attaching u the last file of the error.

Re: "Something went wrong while updating Global Libraries"
Ah well you're now getting a different exception. This means that the error with CDN access is solved.
It looks like you're installing the traffic in a subfolder of C:\Program Files (x86) but that you also have User Access Control enabled that prevents this. The solution is to go to the settings page in Matrix and change the installation folder for your traffic. I have a dedicated F:\ drive for flight sim stuff so I select that and Matrix automatically creates F:\Military AI Works. But if you don't have a separate drive, C:\ should also work.
